7 Easy Meals to Eat While Taking Phentermine

7 Easy Meals to Eat While Taking Phentermine

Guides to healthy eating often explain how eating five or six small meals throughout the day is the best way to manage hunger levels and sustain a steady metabolism.

For those taking phentermine, regular smaller meals can really help enhance the appetite-suppressing effects of the medication, plus a regular supply of food every few hours means fewer drops and spikes in blood sugar levels, adding a steady supply of energy to the energy boost you get from phentermine.

More importantly, smaller healthy meals help weight loss.

With a constant metabolism and balanced blood sugar levels, your body will work more efficiently to break down food into energy, rather than storing it as fat, you’ll feel more motivated to exercise, and your concentration levels will be heightened, with more focus on your goals and a greater sense of motivation.

Here, we present seven great ideas for what to eat while taking phentermine, some smaller balanced meals that will help fuel your weight loss journey with phentermine.

Planning Out Meals

You need to be organized to eat several smaller meals each day, so it’s important to plan when and how much you will eat throughout the day.

Without some forward-thinking, you could fall into the trap of all-day snacking and eating more than you planned.

If you have a calorie limit, then aim to divide that up fairly equally between your meals and space out the meals as evenly as possible so avoid long gaps between them while also making sure you give yourself time to concentrate on eating and not feel that you have to eat in a rush due to your work schedule.

Certainly, eating more often can take some juggling, but the effects are more than worth it!

Meal Ideas

Here are some great meal ideas to get you started, and once you get the hang of it, planning out these mini-meals will be so easy that you’ll wonder why you always stuck to the three square meals a day!

1. Chicken Burrito Bowl

The tasty salad is just 210 calories and provides 22g of protein, essential for building muscle, which is key while you’re on your weight loss journey with phentermine to maintain a healthy body in the long term.

Grill a 2oz chicken breast and slice, adding it to a big bowl containing lettuce, an ounce of avocado, a drizzle of corn salsa, and a quarter of a cup of black beans.

2. Berry Blast Smoothie

Berries make great smoothies, as they’re the easiest fruits to find frozen. To make this smoothie, mix 1 cup of frozen berries, half a cup of water, a quarter of a cup of low-fat plain yogurt, a teaspoon of honey, and a tablespoon of unsweetened soy protein powder.

This gives you 9 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber, filling you up and giving you lots of slow-released energy, antioxidants, and essential nutrients, all for just 140 calories.

3. Tomato, Spinach, and Goat’s Cheese Omelet

This tasty meal totals 250 calories and packs 19g of protein.

Simply beat 2 large eggs, then add half a cup of spinach, fry using a dash of olive oil, and then add an ounce of goat’s cheese and half a tomato, chopped, to the center. Fold and serve.

4. Chicken, Spinach, and Goat’s Cheese Salad

best meals on phentermine

This great-tasting salad gives you 24g of protein and 215 calories in total. Simply grill or steam a 2oz chicken breast, then glaze with honey mustard and serve with a salad of spinach, mixed leaves, and an ounce of goat’s cheese crumbled over the top.

5. Greek Yogurt, Banana, and All Bran

Greek yogurt is deliciously creamy and great for a boost of protein, while the fiber in the banana and All Bran will keep you feeling full.

Simply add a cup of all bran and sliced banana to plain Greek yogurt for a tasty energy-boosting snack with 240 calories and 20g of protein.

6. Tuna Salad with Hummus and Honey Mustard

This fresh salad comes in at 230 calories and totals 30g of protein while also providing healthy fats, fiber, and two servings of vegetables.

Simply wash and tear your choice of lettuce or mixed leaves for the bed, add a cup of chopped celery, plus some extra veg if you want, a serving of honey mustard for dressing, and then mix the tuna and hummus to top the salad.

7. Apple, Peanut Butter, and Milk

This mini-meal comes in at 235 calories and provides 15g of protein, healthy fats in the peanut butter, and calcium with the milk, which helps to break down body fat.

Stick to a tablespoon of peanut butter, as it’s quite high in calories, and use this for eating with your apple while washing the meal down with half a glass of skimmed milk.

This combination of healthy fats, fiber, and protein is a great way to boost energy levels and keep away hunger for longer, making your phentermine work even better for you.

These delicious examples are just some of the ways you can combine healthy, nutritious food to make a great-tasting and filling meal, and all within your calorie limit.

And the best part is, you get to eat these types of meals five or six times a day! So what are you waiting for?

Switch to mini-meals and see how much better you can manage hunger and energy levels while you’re taking phentermine; plus, this is a great way to ensure weight maintenance in the future, so it’s a healthy habit that’s really worth taking up!

I’ve only lost 18 pounds in 30 days and I won’t go no further how can you help that? Exercise perhaps?

    1. I am premenopausal on phentermine for the second time. Does being premenopausal cause slower loss or interfere? If so what can to do to help.

      1. Hi Erin,

There’s no specific research suggesting that being premenopausal directly causes slower weight loss when using phentermine. The effectiveness of phentermine can vary from person to person, and is influenced by factors such as diet, exercise, dosage, and individual health status.

That being said, if you’re considering taking phentermine or any other weight loss medication, it’s important to discuss this with your healthcare provider. Meanwhile, we have an article on how to boost phentermine here: https://www.phentermine.com/how-to-intensify-phentermine/

  7. I’m on phentermine 15mg, last week while riding in the car for over an hour my left arm, and face became numb. These symptoms lasted for a few mins. I got scared and stop taking the pill for a few days, however I want to start taking the pill again. Also I would like to know if I could take the herbalife replacement shakes while taking phentermine

    1. My doctor told me herbal life shakes are good but are full of sugar so not a good protein shake while using the pill ! So I switched to premier protein or sugar free muscle milk couple times a week but I get most of my protien from egg whites tuna chicken and Turkey

  8. I started taking my pills yesterday and feel great so far. I also will be getting weekly injections of B12. My doctor wants me to take 1/2 as soon as i wake up then 1/2 4 hrs later. Have any of you done this? I’m nervous it will make me have too much energy later in the day and cause me to not sleep. Also I am eating Paleo so my Dr said I have no calorie restrictions because it’s a high protein diet. Thoughts on this?

  9. just started my diet with my phentermine 15mg to help me coping with my craving of good food. I m a very good cook and I eat without control at times, but last November when I was involved in an accident that put me in a wheelchair for few months, I moved from size 12 to 18 in 12 months. I started my diet 8 days ago. my plan is to move from 15 stones to 11 stones in 6 weeks. my diet is basically with smoothies and shakes for 3 weeks and I will then add few ingredients on my diet. I feel great since 8 days. I am working without crutches since yesterday as I am feeling very light on my feet now. that medication is miracle worker. I will update you on my progress.

    1. Hi Danielle,
Good luck! But, please eat real food, otherwise any weight you lose is likely to come straight back – smoothies and shakes are not a long term option.

  10. I’m getting ready to start taking phentermine 30mg I take meds for palpitations and high blood pressure so I’m a bit nervous. Also I see these good recipes but most have cheese I am not a cheese eater what else would you suggest?

    1. Hi Dee,
If your doctor thinks it’s fine for you to take phentermine then there can’t be any risks for you to take it alongside your other meds, but it’s a good idea to monitor how you feel and ask him or her if you are worried about side effects or any changes you experience. With respect to the recipes, there are other food and recipe articles on the site without cheese in, such as these simple ones: https://www.phentermine.com/blog/simple-healthy-meals-phentermine/ plus these vegetarian ones for great meat-free meals and side dishes: https://www.phentermine.com/blog/4-vegetarian-dishes-to-eat-on-phentermine/. From there you can experiment and add your own favorite ingredients.

  11. I’m new at taking it..was doing great but then because I am a mood eater..I ate more than I should of and now don’t know how to get back.. Research shows all these recipe meals for like vegetarians which I am not.. What do I do?

  12. Today I started Phentermine and it sure is supressing my appeitite. What I am curious is that all im reading is people who incorperate meat in their diet. I am a Oval Lacto Vegiterian… I know that protein is an important factor to taking Phentermine does any one have experience with being Oval Lacto Vegiterian and on Phentermine? Any help would be great.

    1. Hi,
Ovo meaning egg, lactose meaning dairy. Egg whites and low or nonfat cottage cheese. These two are near perfect sources of protein. But even broccoli is a protein source. Beans are great and they provide filling digestive fiber. I was raised on a lacto ovo lifestyle with a rare occasion of fresh fish.

  13. I started phentermine in June, I started at 272lbs. As of today August 6 I am 238 lbs. I feel great but when I took phentermine at the age of 18 it was much easier to lose the weight. I am 35 with 2 kids, full time job and life in general. Some days I am not hungry and full of energy and others I am starving and moody. How do I find a balance and still maintain good weight loss?

  14. I have been on phentermjne for about 5 weeks and have lost 45 lbs (from 292 t0 247). I know my weight lose is not typical but I think what I am eating so I feel full has everything to do with it, so I will pass it along.

the biggest part of my diet is stir fry, a whole bag 1 lb of frozen stir fry mix is about 140 calories, all fresh veggies is better but frozen is way easier.

stir fry seasoning, lots of flavors to choose from (liquid) 25 calories per tablespoon (I use 2 or 3).

A table spoon or 2 of honey (1/2 ounce 45 calories).

you can add water chestnuts on bamboo shoots if you like (25 calories a can for bamboo and 45 for chestnuts)

whole button mushrooms ( 20 calories for a small can) I use two or three cans.

chicken breast (280 calories in an average size skinless breast) or lean pork loin or tenderloin (178 calories for 3 ounces)

you can also put it over brown rice ( 1 cup 216 calories)

If u go with the chicken and three cans of mushrooms, water chestnuts and the cup of BROWN rice the grand total is 836 calories. two chicken breasts would make it 1116 calories

I sometimes use two chicken breast, cook all of it and save half for my evening meal. If you are thinking that is a lot if food, hell yea it is, a ton! Most overweight people love food and just plain eat to much of it. Sometimes I will eat all of it for just one meal in the evening, Cause that’s just how i role!

you need a large deep side saute pan, a knife and a can opener.

cut and cook the chicken( i use pam cooking spray but olive oil or sesame seed oil is good for you and makes the whole thing better, just remember to adjust you calorie count, All oils have a lot of calories but good oils are a necessary part of your diet.

throw the veggies in the pan, cook off most of the water, throw in everything else and saute until u get the veggie tenderness you like. you should cook the rice at the same time if you like rice. if you are going to save half for later, pull half of the mixture out before it is all the way done so u will have crisp veggies for your reheat. u can reheat in the pan or in the micro wave, pan is better.

there are hundreds of veggie, sauce and meat variations to this and you can switch it up as often as u like.
So are grand total is 1116, I try to keep my calorie intake between 1000 and 1500 per day. leaving about 400 for whatever u want, I like candy 🙂 and a snickers bar is 180 calories (if your doing 1500 calories per day) but I also take a day off every week and eat WHATEVER I want. Gives me something to look forward to and its a great date night for my wife and I, she is also dieting.
don’t get 2 wound up guys the pills can make your junk not work, but that kinda wears off after a few weeks and u learn how to time your pills so you can have sex. I’m not gonna lie, the first few times I tried, my wife thought it was pretty funny that my soldier would not stand at attention. The side effects will subside after a while, at least they did for me.

Don’t get discouraged if u slip up. I have slipped a bunch of times and went over my calorie limit. its no biggy! but the more u see results the easier it is to do.

Please don’t comment on my writing, spelling or punctuation, I flew through this.
Do not comment on this diet being unhealthy or unbalance or any other silly crap you first year dietary aid students fell the need to correct. This is way more balanced and better for u then what u have been eating or u wouldn’t be reading this so.

email me if u have questions or just want to share your results and comments.

    1. Could you help me out with more info on phentermine? I would really like to accomplish your goals! I would really appreciate your help

  15. I am on day 1 of 15mg of phentermine. My MD will not prescribe the full dosage. I am hopeful that 3 months of 15mg with lifestyle changes will be enough to jump start my long term goal of 70 lbs lost.

  16. For lunch I usually eat one slice of whole grain bread cut it in half to make a turkey or tuna sandwich and top it off with one piece of cheddar or mozzarella and with avocado. That is worked for me so far. FOr dinner I just eat small helping of vegetable and a small piece of meat.
