I’m a firm believer that you should love yourself no matter your shape or size! I wanted to lose weight for myself. I wanted to look good in my clothes but most importantly, I needed to lose weight for health reasons.

I have asthma and being overweight made it so hard for me. I was always out of breath and feeling very uncomfortable. In 2018 I had a health scare. My unhealthy habits caused me to become pre-diabetic. At that moment I knew that something had to be done.

I started to eat healthy but I just couldn’t seem to stick to it. I was the biggest I had ever been in 2020. My asthma had gotten worse and I was literally on the borderline of having diabetes. I was so emotional and I knew that if I wanted to live and feel good about the person I see in the mirror, something had to be done.

So, on April 1st 2020, I spoke with my doctor and she decided to put me on phentermine. I started my journey April 8th. I did my first weigh in at 220 lbs. The biggest challenge in my weight loss journey was sticking to it and being consistent. But here I am still going strong mentally, physically and emotionally. Overall I feel better inside and out!

Losing weight has helped me in many ways. I’ve learned that no matter how big or small you are, you should never judge a person. It has humbled me tremendously. I’ve learned to love myself and the skin I’m in!

My biggest weight loss advice to everyone is to never give up! You may not see a finish line but there’s definitely a rainbow at the end of each storm. If you want it you have to keep pushing, keep fighting no matter how hard it is. Don’t monitor your scale daily. You can do it and the best pay-off is looking at yourself in the mirror and loving exactly what you see.
