Linda Got Her Health Back BySally Cohen Updated onJune 20, 2022 Lost 30 poundsAge: 32Start Weight: 165 poundsCurrent Weight: 135 poundsTreatment Duration: 1 – 3 months “Stick with it: be that for one week, one day, or even one hour at a time. Small steps will turn into HUGE strides over time!” I chose to lose weight because I wanted to focus on my body being God’s temple, having a healthier lifestyle (as an example to my four kids) and getting back to the active me I used to be. At first I struggled with creating a new routine, making a new shopping list for myself, adjusting the time needed to prepare something different at meals times, etc. I have 4 kids and a husband, I also have my own business, we are involved in church, I home school…. so it was mainly not letting anything become an excuse. It’s been tough, but worth it. I am so thankful for feeling healthier now and having more energy to spend active time with my children, etc. My only advice would be to stick with it. We are all different, we reach our goals at different rates/in different ways…and that’s ok! You are the one who has to live with yourself and your decisions. Losing Weight with Phentermine Cured My Acid Reflux & Migraines When I was going through some bad, constant acid reflux and just pure exhaustion etc, I went to the doctor and they did blood work and other tests. The doctor found that I have super high bad cholesterol, though I don’t cook with salt or butter, don’t eat the yellow of eggs, etc… Anyway, it’s genetic and a lot of people in my family have heart/health issues. My dad is one of the healthiest people I have ever met and yet he has a bad heart, high BP, etc. My thyroid levels were not the best which would explain part of the reason I was exhausted all the time and not losing weight. Just going to check the mail would physically wear me out. I couldn’t get enough sleep, etc. Doc told me to not sleep more than 7 hours each night. I was shocked. lol. I have 4 kids – I’m tired! But he told me that sleeping too much would make one more tired, more headaches, harder to lose weight, etc. Up to this point, I had been doing Weight Watchers perfectly and working out with a personal trainer but was still not losing weight 🙁 So at that doctor’s appointment, we addressed all of the issues mentioned above. I asked a friend of a friend how she had lost weight because I saw her occasionally and she told me she had used a local weight loss clinic in our town, so I called and got my appointment. I knew I needed to focus on getting healthy, being more active with my children, having a healthy heart. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women and that just really got my attention! The combination of my better eating, the “phen”, sleeping and exercise routine has changed so much for me. I usually get 3 migraines a week…now I have had maybe 3 in 3-4 months! Praise the lord!! I have no reflux at all unless I don’t eat healthy – so that’s my fault as well, lol. I have a sweet tooth lol but now even a nibble of something is “too sweet”. My portions are smaller of everything as well. I met my weight loss goal and now I want to tone everything and get fit/be stronger. I’m now on maintenance program. I’m the same weight as when I got married 8 years ago. But my body has changed – 4 kids in 4 years does that to ya, lol. 🙂 Clothing fits differently than ever before! Main thing: healthier BMI, healthier heart and a healthier me for God to use!
