Sentis is a popular brand of phentermine weight loss pills sold in Chile. The active ingredient is phentermine hydrochloride (phentermine HCL).
These pills work to suppress appetite and boost energy to help users lose weight faster. While the medication is highly-effective, it also causes a wide range of undesirable side effects.
Sentis is a prescription-only appetite suppressant that helps patients lose weight faster and more easily. It's active ingredient, phentemrine hydrochloride, is a central nervous system stimulant.
Due to its high success rate and relative safety (when taken as prescribed), this medication has exploded in popularity in recent years. In fact, in 2017, over 970,000 boxes of phentermine were sold in Chile alone .
Below are the active and inactive ingredients contained in each pill :
This medication helps overweight patients jumpstart their weight loss journeys. Its active ingredient, phentermine hydrochloride, is a central nervous system stimulant that suppresses appetite and boosts energy to facilitate weight loss.
It is intended for the treatment of exogenous obesity: obesity caused by eating too much and/or moving too little for an extended period of time. It is not designed as a treatment for individuals who struggle to control their weight due to a distinct medical condition (e.g. hypothyroidism).
Sentis should always be used in combination with healthy diet and regular exercise, and should never be taken for more than three months at a time.
The weight loss pills are only approved for 12 weeks of use because their efficacy decreases after three months. This recommendation for short-term use also also minimizes patients’ risk of addiction.
Sentis, like other brands of phentermine, is an option for overweight and obese patients who want some help losing weight.
Eligibility for this medication is assessed based on body mass index (BMI), medical history, current & recent medications, lifestyle factors and overall commitment to weight loss .
Sentis pills are designed for patients with:
However, given the potency of these pills, Sentis is not right for every overweight patient. This medication causes a myriad of side effects and can interact with other medications & supplements, so make sure to discuss your complete medical and pharmaceutical history with a trustworthy doctor before starting Sentis (or any other brand of phentermine).
Sentis is currently available in two doses: Sentis 18.75 mg and Sentis 37.5 mg. Both doses are sold as capsules and packaged in boxes of thirty (30) pills .
Given the potent and potentially-addictive nature of the pills, doctors are instructed to prescribe the lowest effective dose. As a result, many patients start at 18.75 mg per day and then progress to Sentis 37.5 mg if they need more phentermine to see results. In general Sentis 37.5 is the most popular dose.
Depending on your doctor’s instructions, you may take this medication one or two times per day. The pills are most effective if you take them on an empty stomach – either before breakfast or 1-2 hours after eating. Swallow your tablet with water .
It's best to take your pill first thing in the morning. Given the medication’s stimulant properties, taking the capsules too late in the day can disrupt your sleep.
In general, avoid taking this medication within 8 hours of your regular bedtime. If you only take one tablet per day, this is easy. However, if you take a second dose midway through the day, make sure that you take it early in the afternoon so that you can still sleep at night.
Sentis is a powerful medication. As such, it is not right for everyone – especially in the presence of certain medical conditions and other medications.
This medication should NOT be taken alongside antidepressants.
Avoid phentermine weight loss pills if you currently take, or have recently taken (within the last two weeks), a:
Some physicians prescribe a low-dose antidepressant together with phentermine to increase the weight loss pill’s effectiveness. However, this combination involves a very low dose of the antidepressant (much lower than therapeutic doses) and should only be utilized under close medical supervision .
Phentermine is designed as a treatment for obesity caused by an improper energy balance. Since hypothyroidism can lead to weight gain not attributable to overeating (or under-exercising), prescription appetite suppressants should not be used as a primary treatment for this condition.
Phentermine is sometimes prescribed to patients with hypothyroidism to help them lose weight, but the primary focus should remain on normalizing and controlling the individual’s thyroid hormones.
This strong medicine should not be used in the presence of certain medical conditions, nor at the same time as specific other medications & supplements.
Make sure to tell your doctor about your complete medical history (both physical and mental illness) and all current & recent medications. If you take any kind of diabetes medicine and/or insulin, remember to discuss this with your prescribing physician. Your dose may need to be adjusted.
