"I never struggled with my weight until after I had kids and 7 years later, here I am having the struggle of my life losing this weight once and for all. I have yo-yo dieted for the past few years and have finally realized that I cant expect a quick fix when it comes to losing weight. I have a completely different mindset this time around and I know it may take me over a year or more to lose this weight the right way...the healthy way. I started out at my heaviest weight ever of 249.6lbs and with a lot of determination and motivation, I have dropped down to 198.8lbs as of today. I have lost over 50lbs now with the help of phentermine and friends and exercise. I have had my ups and downs during these past few months, but I have to keep telling myself that this will not happen over night and to keep on truckin..."

A new lifestyle
What is the deciding factor that made you decide to change your lifestyle?
What made me ultimately snap out of it all and really do something about my weight is when my boys came up to me one day and told me how fat I was. It made me cry so hard and the worst part was that they said it in front of my boyfriend and his family so I was so embarrassed and humiliated. I knew they spoke the truth though. I was fat. I couldn't keep up with them and I struggled daily with the easiest tasks. Here it is 4 months later and 50lbs lighter and they still remind me that I am fat, but that I am getting skinny! Kids aren't afraid to tell it like it is and my boys are doing just that to me. That is OK now though, it is an even bigger motivator to show them that Mommy can be skinny again.
What was the most difficult adjustment to your new lifestyle?
The hardest part in making this lifestyle change permanent was that I had to give up fast food. I had this addiction to greasy, fatty burgers and fries and actually I am still fighting this addiction. I am just taking it one day at a time and I am learning that I do not have to completely block out going out to eat, I just have to choose the healthiest thing for me.
What is the most rewarding part of your new lifestyle?
The most rewarding thing so far for me is that I am gaining my self-confidence back slowly, but surely. I KNOW I look so much better than I did, but its still a slow process to LIKE what I see in the mirror now.
