Melissa's second pregnancy with her daughter was a big turning point in her life in influencing her decision to lose weight. After struggling for almost three years with her weight, Melissa realised that she would only be happier if she made changes to her lifestyle.

"I'm a stay at home mom of 2 that has only struggled with weight in the last 3 years. I gained all my weight when I was pregnant with my daughter. I gained 60 pounds and was extremely depressed after I had her. I thought then that my body would never be the same. So I just gave up on myself and did not care for a long time. I then had to deal with my husband being in the military and leaving for 6 months. I then thought that it would be a great time to get on the ball with things.

I did. I lost 25 pounds and a lot of inches doing the slim fast diet and working out 4-5 days a week. I then thought I would be ok after that. But boy was I wrong. I gained all that weight back and more. A friend of mine told me about Phentermine and how it really helped her lose weight. She told me how much weight she had lost and I was amazed. So I knew for sure I had to try it.

I started taking Phentermine right at Thanksgiving of 2004 and as of right now I have lost a total of 20 pounds in that short amount of time. But it has not been easy by any means. I still struggle to keep my self on track but I don't give in to temptations often. I have learned that it's not fair to my body to give up everything I enjoy eating. So I reward myself with a treat of some kind every week but in very small portions. I do go to the gym now with a different view of how to work on my body. It's not how much you do in the time you are there but making sure you are doing your exercise correctly. I did not know that I had thses muscles and many days they really hurt but then I think of all that I am gaining from working out and getting fit for the rest of my life.

I'm still very young and I want to be around for a long time for my children and my husband and I know the only way to do that is to change my lifestyle for good. I hope my story helps someone out there. I know if I can do this YOU can too!! Good luck and God bless!!"

A new lifestyle
What is the deciding factor that made you decide to change your lifestyle?
I decided to finally do this for me and not anyone else. I also knew that I would not be healthy much longer if I didn't change very soon.
What was the most difficult adjustment to your new lifestyle?
Changing what I ate. This is still a struggle for me but I get better with it everyday.
What is the most rewarding part of your new lifestyle?
Seeing all those pounds coming off like crazy!!! And knowing that I will never be overweight again cause I have changed my lifestyle.
Do you have any words of advice for the community?
Keep up the good work and remember you didn't gain weight overnight so it's not coming off that way either, but if you do work hard you will see all the results in the end!
