I am 57 and starting menopause. I would exercise, but I overate and never felt full, so I gained about 15 pounds. I always started a diet on Monday, and stayed on track but then lost focus at the weekend. I was tired of losing and gaining the same couple pounds, so I saw my doctor and he prescribed adipex. I started on May 2 at 188 and my goal weight is 160. At my first weigh in I was 176, now I’m on my second month. I had dry mouth and dry eyes, constipation and headaches but after the first week no side effects Read less

The effects were good at first and I had a lot of appetite suppression, not so much difference on the energy and the insomnia and mood swings was tough, but then after the first 3-4 weeks, I started to get hungry again and the cravings came back. My doctor wouldn’t put my dosage up and told me to exercise. I lost 12lbs the first month and then 4lbs the second month, and actually put on 3lbs the third month. Not sure what I did wrong but it didn’t seem to work for me for more than a couple weeks. Read less

I started last year, at 196lbs. I lost 5lbs the first week but got bad dry mouth, dizziness, constipation from the start, and NO SLEEP! I got sick of lying awake every night so I started taking sleeping pills too – not something I wanted to start. I was doing aerobics class and felt like my heart was jumping out my chest. I got a boost of energy but this freaked me out. I also felt pains in my legs and joints, I think they say you should take calcium or iron supplements and vitamins. A month later I was at 182 but I stopped taking it regular until last month. I’m at 175lbs now, and starting to get chest pains, headaches so I stopped it altogether – not worth it. Read less

I was reluctant as I heard things about this drug and wasn’t sure but I am happy to say it’s worked for me! After 4 weeks I’m down 15lbs, never lost so quick before so this is amazing. It’s taken my appetite completely so now I can eat portion sizes right for my size, which was what caused my weight gain. I have so much energy now, more than in months. Side effects: dry mouth, no appetite so I forget to eat, and very little sleep – I usually wake up after 4-5 hours sleep. Read less

It took away my hunger and cravings during the first couple days, but it took awhile to get used to it. The first day I was groggy and dizzy, but got used to it. These are the side effects I got: hair loss, dry mouth, dry sore eyes, constipation, jitters, insomnia easily irritated, mood swings. But - lost 40 lbs, big energy boost, and it actually took away the headaches I used to get. After 3 months it’s not working with cravings and hunger anymore, but still tons of energy and no headaches. My doctor kept me on it but now high BP, so I decided to cut down. Now low energy and getting headaches again. Weight loss has plateaued these last weeks. Read less

I’m 5'3 and was 202lbs when I started the adipex in Jan 2016. I’m now skipping days to stop them in the next couple weeks. Total weight loss is 38lbs in 3 months!! The first month I lost the most. Ate 1200 calories daily, so much water, worked out 4-5 x a week. I get headaches due to lack of water, sometimes I was dizzy bc I stood up too fast. Many sleepless nights from the energy - my body felt so tired but couldn’t sleep sometimes more than 3 hours. My body image isn't what I thought it would be, but my journey isn’t over, and I feel more confident. adipex is a tool I used to help change my life style, very thankful for it! Read less

I got the dry mouth but drank a ton of water and you're supposed to do that anyways so that helped. I lost 7lbs in the first week but after that it slowed down and then a couple months in I couldn't notice the effects and felt hungry again. Overall I lost 20lbs but I have more to lose so I guess I will ask my doctor to go back after this break. Read less
