My doctor wasn't sure about phen for me as I am usually sensitive to meds but at 229lbs and 5'5", my knees were starting to hurt more and more and it was depressing me to see myself this way. I tried it for a couple weeks and just felt horrible, even when I halved the pill it still made me feel like a zombie, irritable, crying for no reason, and I couldn't sleep more than a couple hours a night. I did get the curbed hunger and I managed to lose 7lbs but this med is just too strong for me so I'm going to try a supplement my doctor recommended me. Read less

Generic phentermine (pills) - not working liked I hoped

I’m taking the phentermine 37.5, prescribed by my doctor. I started 3 weeks ago and I’m down 5lbs. I had hoped for more but apparently this is around average. I feel tired all day then I could easily stay up all night some nights, but I have to force myself to sleep and force myself to eat too. I’m not very impressed so far, I expected the side effects to stop by now and for more weight loss too, seems a lot of trouble and risk to health for 5lbs. Read less

I wasn’t obese, just at the edge of overweight and wanted to be in the normal range and lose my tummy. My doctor wouldn’t prescribe it so I got it from a weight loss clinic – complete waste of money. It works, my appetite was zero but the side effects were unbearable. My mouth was so dry that my tongue felt too big for my mouth, serious dizziness, nausea, mood swings, headaches and insomnia. I couldn’t even finish a week on it because I was worried about driving and fainting on the way to work. It was just way too strong for me. Read less

I've been on adipex tablets for 4 weeks and lost 3.5lbs, less than a pound a week. I went to my doctor today to report my results and we decided to switch to capsules to see if it makes a difference. Hopefully these work better for me but as they are the same dosage I’m not sure if there will be a difference. So far I’m disappointed, I hoped for much better results. Read less

The effects were good at first and I had a lot of appetite suppression, not so much difference on the energy and the insomnia and mood swings was tough, but then after the first 3-4 weeks, I started to get hungry again and the cravings came back. My doctor wouldn’t put my dosage up and told me to exercise. I lost 12lbs the first month and then 4lbs the second month, and actually put on 3lbs the third month. Not sure what I did wrong but it didn’t seem to work for me for more than a couple weeks. Read less

I started last year, at 196lbs. I lost 5lbs the first week but got bad dry mouth, dizziness, constipation from the start, and NO SLEEP! I got sick of lying awake every night so I started taking sleeping pills too – not something I wanted to start. I was doing aerobics class and felt like my heart was jumping out my chest. I got a boost of energy but this freaked me out. I also felt pains in my legs and joints, I think they say you should take calcium or iron supplements and vitamins. A month later I was at 182 but I stopped taking it regular until last month. I’m at 175lbs now, and starting to get chest pains, headaches so I stopped it altogether – not worth it. Read less

Generic phentermine (pills) - Bad side effects

I lost weight, about 20lbs over the 3 months, but I had bad side effects - episodes of rage, insomnia and migraines. I put a couple pounds back on but I don't want to go back to taking it. Read more
