Goth, don't feel bad about this. Sometimes men don't understand or put much thought in dates. I am glad you told him how you felt. He might not have known otherwise. So, don't fret and enjoy yourself. Congrats on the 15 years, you both need to go out and enjoy.

Congrats in 15 years!! Don't feel guilty about hubby asking for the day off. This is a special day for both of you and you both need to celebrate making it through a difficult year. I know guilt is an awful thing! Don't let it get to you, go out and enjoy yourself!

PS Plan a weekend away just the 2 of you!!! No relatives!!!

Congrats on 15 years together. I don't blame you for wanting to spend the day with your Hubby. If it were me I would sit him down and tell him how I felt. Let him know that since it has been a tough year you would love to celebrate on Saturday and do something special together. So what if he takes the day off work because he feels guilty? In the end I'm sure he will be very glad he did.

Goth - I am sorry you are feeling this way but I completely understand. You deserve some alone time with your hubby and you should not feel guilty about it. Yeah, he could make good money Sat. but what's money worth if you don't have time to enjoy it?

    Congrats on the 15 years.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. Hopefully he'll still be able to get the day off, don't feel guilty and have a wonderful time. 15 years is a HUGE accomplishment...don't let this take away from the anniversary and try to make it a new starting point...put the past behind you and start working on the next 15.

Well Goth, try not to feel guilty, but I hope your husband can get out of working. It sounds like you two have a lot to celebrate. Shoot, being together for 15 years is a celebration alone that is deserving, but if you coupled that with the rough patches from the past year, woman, get your freak on & don't feel one ounce of guilt!

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Unhappy OT: Need to vent/whine/complain...

    Saturday is our anniversary...15 years!

Hubby's work is making them work 19 days straight(which could turn into months instead of days), but he was using a vacation day on Sat. to be off for our anniversary. Well, he came home this morning and said that he was going to go ahead and work Sat. because they asked him too. I understand why he's working(he makes time-and-a-half on Saturdays and double-time on Sundays), but damnit! it's our anniversary. I mean 15yrs together. I told him I was disappointed, because after the year we've had, I honestly didn't think we'd make it to our anniversary. Now I know he'll go to work tonight and try to get out of working Sat., which will make me feel guilty.

It's just been a really rough year for us...lots of fights/almost separating 4 times/talk of divorce/etc. In 15yrs we've only celebrated on the actual day we got married maybe 3 times. We never even had a honeymoon or have taken an actual vacation that didn't involve going to see relatives.

Guess I just want some 'us' time, but there's never time for that. I'm just really 'bummed' today.

    Thanks for reading.
