    Good for u! I know how hard it is to resist delicious food,especially on Sundays. I'm from the South and we use to live for Sunday dinners at my Grandma's house,with all the yummy fattening foods.

    I still do my soul food on some Sundays,but have just learned how to do it without all the added fat. Still tastes great

    And greens are good for you if you don't add too much of the extra stuff. I was surprised,but the calories are actually very low.

    Hell yea!!! You did awesome girl!!! Doesn't it just feel amazing to KNOW that you can do that!? That you can tell yourself "no" and choose a healthy alternative!?

    Oh yea, and that smaller plate trick SO WORKS!!! My step mom does that to this day and when I was younger I never understood why.... at first I thought it was because the regular plates were either in use or dirty! lol silly I know

    You would probably be shocked at how fast you got full if you did eat that. I eat healthier but my hubby is a junk food junkie so we still go out alot. And if it is anything high in fat. Four bites is usually my max! I fell bad because I waste so much food now, but I just can't eat it.

    Good job! Maybe you need to try and eat but a little bit. I know that southern cooking is great. but maybe soon you will be able to control yourself. May your salad and a little greens and half of a pork chop. You can do it soon. You already got the power. When you serve youself serve it on a small plate, and try to chew a lot of times the food you have in your mouth. It takes you longer to eat and before you know it your full. Plus the plate has a illusion affect, you see a plate full of food even though the plate is smaller.YOU CAN DO IT. Your strong and you want to lose the weight.

    You have great willpower! Sunday dinner is a tough one, especially southern cooking. Greens are not bad for you - depending on how they are prepared. A salad is just as nice Looks like you know your weakness. keep up the great work!

    Sounds delish! You have great willpower!!! I also love pork, and I still eat lean pork quite often, but it's just not the same if it isn't fried I do bake it sometimes in panko bread crumbs and pretend Keep up the great work, that was a great test and you passed with flying colors!!!

    Pork = my biggest weakness. The only relationship I can safely have with it is " outta sight, outta mind". i will eat the whole loin or all the chops! Oh and fried catfish ranks way up on my yummy list too.

    Thank god I only have me to feed because if i had to prepare that for my family, they would probably get mad when set there plates out then I take myself out for a shrimp cocktail lunch!

    You did GREAT! I know how hard it is to want a bit of something sooo goood.. But you did it! and fighting that bad little voice in your head is half the battle, cause you know if you did eat it you would be beating yourself up right about now! SO, congrats to you! Keep up the good work!

    Girl, you can send me all of the greens and hot water cornbread you want. I love the stuff.......LOL. You should be proud of yourself for eating the salad, though. I know it was hard to do because I love all of that good southern/soul cooking, too. It's so hard to stop at one helping because it's so yummy. Keep praying and you'll do fine.

    It's not that I think I will gain weight. My problem is, I want stop at one plate, I have to back off of food like that for a while until I can learn not to eat buffet style. LOL!
    I've bought a book for healthy cooking and healthy eating and so far it makes for good reading.

    Had I taken that bite today I might have never gotten myself back on track. I'm new to this game and I have a long way to go.

    What's wrong with having a piece of a pork chop or having a whole one?I don't think you will gain that much weight.

    Talking This is only a Test

    Today is sunday and what goes along with sunday?? Sunday dinner!
    Yesterday my family expressed what they wanted for dinner and I had to say a quick prayer for myself before I headed off to the store.

    Today I fixed Greens with hot water corn bread, Pork chops, Mexican rice and fried whole catfish. All the while I was cooking I was praying. I wanted to break off a piece of one of those porkchops and have at it.

    Thank God I didn't ,instead I made a nice salad and so far I am satisfied with that. All I have to do is keep saying to myself THIS IS ONLY A TEST!

    But Lord knows I sure could use a plate of hot water cornbread and green!!!
