    WOW, that is great!

My husband has one of those $1800 bikes & he competes in trialthons. I have tried to ride with him, but I can't get over the booty pain. I have even purchased the wide gel seat & although it helps, but I still feel uncomfortable.

Thanks for the inspiration, I soo broke out my bike tonight and went for a ride after reading this earlier! lol I prolly only rode about maybe a mile(around the yard with my 2 year old running after me!), but it felt great. Oh...and I bought this gel seat cover for my bike at walmart...NO more a** pain!

Yes! a good pair of bike shorts and the right seat make all the difference in the world. If you have a performance bike nearby, this is the saddle that I have on my bike http://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=5211

You can get a good pair of bike shorts from performance or from www.teamestrogen.com which sells larger sizes than performance.

Your butt WILL hurt. It stopped me from riding for almost a year. Now I realize that every time I get on the saddle my bottom hurts for maybe the first mile... I think it's working out the lactic acid from my last ride, and then it goes away. But the key is consistency!

    VERY cool.

If I sat on a bike ... the seat would disappear.

You know it's interesting, because now that I'm doing it, the bike actually keeps me motivated to exercise. I spend all day cooped up in an office. And when I walk outside and smell the fresh air, it makes me go, "this is perfect bike riding weather." I don't leave the A/C on during the day at home so when I get home it's always a little too warm, so instead of sitting in the house hot, I throw on my bike gear and take my bike out for an hour and let the house cool off!

That is so awesome! Congrats on losing the inches. I had to give my bike away. I have patello-femoral syndrome in both of my knees and the physical therapist told me that bicycles and stairs were my two worst enemies. Keep it up and maybe one day you'll by cycling next to Lance Armstrong.

oh yeah and a few other things when riding your bike.

I used to keep it in a gear where I had to push REAL hard because I felt like I was doing more, but the more you spin the easier it is to ride, and the less damage you will do on your knees!

Make sure your tires are aired up all the way too! Holy cow! when I have low tire pressure the rides totally kick my butt!

I've lost 9 inches in my hips since I started riding. It's definitely toning up my lower body a lot. Helping with cellulite on my butt and inner thighs in a big way. It's not all that great for abs but at the same time to keep your posture and to keep pedaling I have to keep them ****ed in so I'm noticing they are getting smaller too.

I haven't lost a ton of weight from doing it, but still slow steady progression. I weighed in at 200 at the docs on july 12th and the scale said 196.8 this morning at home so that's not too bad considering I'm in month 3.

I know I'm burning like 750 calories an hour on it, I am pushing myself for sure!

The trick is to not just pedal along. when I was starting BF told me to try for 60rpm or cadance. He taught me how to do that by picking a leg and counting 1 missisippi, two missisippi, because that's basically a pedal stroke a second. Now I'm trying to get my rpms up closer to 70 to 80 rpm. My average cadence on a ride is 75 right now, but that includes slowing down or not pedaling to avoid obstacles.

For the best results on your bike, if your seat/ handle bars can be adjusted make sure on your down stroke that your leg is almost completely straight and that you're not struggling to reach the bottom of the pedal. if you're struggling at the downstroke lower your seat, if you're leg isn't totally straight, raise it.

Geez, I can't believe your getting so many miles in!! That's friggin awesome! How many were you doing at first? What kind of results are you seeing? Where are you toning up/ slimming up at? Maybe I could start doing that every other day to give my shins a rest. I've been pondering the idea b'c for once in my life I DON'T live on a dirt road. lol... anywho, I have a whole neighborhood to ride in now, so hook me up with some info!

Default update: 70+ miles and counting!

    Hey all!

I've totally discovered cycling for my exercise and I can't even tell you how much fun I'm having! If any of you are looking for a new fun workout, I definitely recommend a bike. I don't have anything fancy at all!

I don't know if you remember this thread from last month
    https://www.phentermine.com/forum/my...xercising.html

Boy what a difference a month makes! So far this week I have ridden 70+ miles on my bike! Here's what I've done:
Sunday: 22+ miles (even attempted BFs crazy giant hill from the other post - made it 2/3 of the way up too!)
Monday: 13.5 miles, was going to only do a "little ride" but had enough energy when I got to the top of the steady incline I decided to do the whole loop!
Tuesday: 21 miles: went from my house down around the bay in newport beach and back. Several crazy hill climbs, and I had my best time ever on this route.
Wednesday: 13.8 miles - my body was pretty darn tired, but I ended up having my fastest time ever for my loop.

I went back and read my old post, and it's funny, the ride that I describe there I now do like it's nothing, in fact, I've started taking an alternate route with more hill climbs!

I went to my ob/gyn for my well woman last night for my annual and she said my bp was 100/65. It's never been that low and I know it's because of the cycling!

If you guys have a bike at home, I encourage you to try it. I'm having so much fun with it. I love being able to see the progress! I have a little computer on my bike that tells me how fast I'm spinning my legs and distance and speed. It's only like $20 to buy one. I've even impressed my BF who's been riding for forever, I can give him a run for his money as long as he's on his mountain bike! It's not a fair fight when he's on his road bike though!

I'm absolutely loving the cycling and wanted to tell you guys about it! If you have any questions about bikes or whatever I might be able to help!
