My sister works for Blood Assurance here where we live. She's on the Donorsaurus, a bus painted up with dinosaurs. It's a non profit organization that collects blood for our region. She gets me all the time because I don't give. She messed up when she showed me how big the needle was that they use lol. I was actually considering going when she first started.....now, 2 years later and alot of gripping from my sister I still haven't went.

They don't get money from their blood. I don't know how they do all of the payroll and stuff and all the inner workings of it all.

Someone else will have to give blood for me. I take blood thinners(for the rest of my life) so the dr gets my blood every 2-4 weeks.

I've done it forever - but took 2 years off because of the boys ... use to be a captive in my house with 2 little ones, but now that I'm among the living again - that was one of the 1st things I did.
Hi, I'm Roc & I'm on the weight loss rollercoaster as well as a 42 yr. old - mother of 3 year old twins. An entirely different rollercoaster

After seeing how many units my dad needed while in the hospital I vowed I would give blood ...haven' been able to do it yet though because I'm so darn busy............

volunteers give the blood for free but did you know the hospital charged my dad's insurance over ten grand for it? WOW...somebody's making money off of volunteers.....

I love giving blood too but I haven't done it in a really long time & I have got on new medications since than so I'm not sure if I can still give blood but I can try. You lose 1 pound each time you give a pint of blood I think it is.
It's important to give blood & I agree I think everyone should do it its for a good cause

    Default Yes!

I absolutely LOVE giving blood! I've been bummed cuz I've been preggo until the end of June, but I can totally go give blood again. It's definitely a great thing to do, and it honestly feels good to know you're helping out and doing a good thing.
