I am so for Jamaica. My hubby and I went and loved it just wished we stayed longer. Sandals has PKG's that include everything!! If you are worried about anything costing to much, tell your MIL that and that and ask if she has a price in mind. You can also tell her that if where you pick it to much you two will make up the difference.

Well I can give some insight on a carnival cruise...as I've been on two! I've been to mexico and the bahamas. To go on a honeymoon on a cruise...i think would be super fun! Because you can get alll kinds of special treatment. Even the silly lil games they play, they will pick newlyweds to do. On both of my cruises...there was a couple that actually got married ON the ship.

If you go on a cruise...the only advice I can give...is to be active in the activities to get the full experience of the cruise. Do all the stupid games, get all dressed up and go to the formal dinner, etc.

I think the alaskan cruise would be an awesome idea! Oh and if you wanna see any pics of my latest cruise...check out my albums on myspace

If I could go anywhere I would go to Corsica off the coast of France. My husband and I spent 3 weeks there in 2006 and it was the most amazing place we have ever been.

If you want to stay somewhat local I would suggest Napa, we did that trip before we were married and had a great time visiting the wineries and alternating days visiting San Francisco, we stayed somewhere between the two places. Lot's of drinking but it was fun to try all those wines!

    Hawaii!!!!!!

If you really want to do the Italy thing (that's what I would do) then I would book the airline and when you go to dinner be all like "Oh we already got tickets BUT if you'd like to help with the hotel that would be great!"

That way you get to go where you want
Mom and Dad get to make their gift and feel better
    Everyone is happy.

Thank you ALL for your ideas! Thin4good, you are right I never mentioned where I'd like to go! DUH! lol First, let me say that my Wedding is a Themed wedding and it is Hawaiian!

Something Tropical would be very fitting, relaxing and desired by me. My Fiancee has not been to Hawaii. He has been to the tropical areas in Mexico. He has also been to Europe. I would LOVE to spend my Honeymoon in some romantic place in Italy, but I don't feel like that is #1 fair to his Mom as far as $$$ wise and #2, he has been there and I do want to go somewhere he hasn't been. He traveled alot as a child and even as an adult. He has been to Europe now 2 or 3 times. I have never even left the Country. He has been to many places in Mexico and has enjoyed them all.

I am so scared to fly. I don't know why. But I do know that my weight is a factor in my fear!

One of the most romantic places I think is cabo. It's popular among the "stars" there's not much beach swimming unless you go to a specific resort. Go to this link on the travel channel, it will give you some great ideas!! http://www.travelchannel.com/Travel_...and_Honeymoons

You haven't mentioned how you'd like to spend your honeymoon? That helps pick a place! Do you want to be spoiled? Do you want to spend the week on the beach in the sun? Do you like to gamble? Do you like to shop? Sight See?

You mentioned you've never flown. Can I suggest it might be a good idea to stay in your own time zone? I've flown a lot and the flight from California to Hawaii has made me a little stir crazy every time I've done it. Seats are cramped and after 5 hours I just want to get up and pace the aisle. Also, because it's a 5 hour flight there and back it's like losing a whole day of Vacation!

I love Hawaii, it's a fantastic place, and island time is something that definitely should be experienced! I've been there twice and loved it both times. I've also been to a fantastic Mexico resort town called Ixtapa.LAX has a direct flight to Ixtapa, and it's only a couple of hours and because of the time difference you don't have the whole jet lag thing. Also incredibly mellow with fantastic views! The biggest difference for me between the two was in Ixtapa we were spoiled and lived like kings. I had this room that was bigger than my condo with marble floors and it's own kitchen and room service and every night they'd put rose petals all over my bed, and it was all inclusive. In Hawaii, to get the same type of treatment I think you'd have to be a millionaire.

My husband and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon. It was our wedding gift from my grandparents. Oh my gosh, seriously, it was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon. It is a small island but there was lots to do. My husband was actually looking for a job while we were out there because he did not want to leave. The Hawiian islands are always a great choice. Heck my great grandfather lived in Maui for 40 something years.

If we didn't go to Kauai I would have choosen:
    Fiji
    The Bahamas
    Cancun
    St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
    Italy
    Australia
Puerto Rico (And you don't even need a passport to go there!)

Question Way way way OT: but wanting YOUR input

So my fiancee says to me, "My Mom wants to meet us for dinner so we can talk about Honeymoon's." Me: "What?" Fiancee: "Yeah, she wants to pay for it." Me: " Are YOU serious?" Fiancee: "YES!!!"

OK LADIES! Where in the HELL do I wanna go? I have been everywhere in California and I have NEVER flown! A cruise sounds nice, BUT his parents paid for him and his ex wife to go on a 7 day cruise for thier Honeymoon. Any suggestions, ideas... ??? HELP!!! I am so excited and still in serious shock.
