It seems that alot of people here talk about PCOS.. Just curious but is this something that Phen might cause is pt's? Or just that the Pt's happen to have it before they start phen?

Hi there! Raquel asked me if I wouldn't mind giving some input. Honestly, when I got on metformin, it has changed so much! Some people don't like to get on it, for what reasons I don't get, but I love it. My doc started me off on 500 mg twice a day. I will bump up one of my posts about it. There is a ton of info on there! Look for it titled Do you have PCOS - Signs and Symptoms...or something along those lines.

Congrats on the weight loss. I know that having PCOS can make your weight loss journey a little tougher, but it looks like you are doing great. Keep it up.

Jennifer ... great news on the 2lbs ...
I don't know what PCOS is, but do you think that is what is wrong with your moods as well?
I'd be over the moon happy that I was officially diagnosed. So congrats.
I know BENSON has PCOS but is scarce lately ... so hopefully you'll get a lot of information to help you along the way. Hell O - I'll email her and tell her to share her knowledge. lol
I want to see the 80's so bad, it was such a good decade for me
I take metformin and I eat very sensibly since I am IR. I am very carb sensitive, so I have to watch the intake, any CARB overhaul will send me in the wrong direction and cause major weight gain set backs!!!! Studies show that PCO is maintained by regular exercise, healthy eating, and in many cases the use of metformin. So far it has helped me in conjunction with phen.
I used to work at a Fertility Clinic...(inseminations/IVF/DONOR) that kinda place. The women who came in w/ PCOS often had trouble "growing eggs". They had a LOT of itty bitty eggs that never grew. It also turns out, that most of them were on the heavier side because they are insulin resistent. So! We gave them glucophage aka metformin (for diabetes) and it helped them lose weight, as well as increase their chances of getting pregs. by allowing their eggs to "grow" without any fertility meds. Voila!
Well sorry i haven't been around much i have had a severly crazy two weeks! But i am down 2 lbs. which brings me to 180... But i got some good news in a way since i now know WTH is wrong with me but bad at the same time, I have been diagnosed with PCOS! I know a few of you on the board have it, if you could please let me know of your experience and things you are doing to control it?
