KEEP GOING! 8lbs is good in that amount of time. Unless you are speaking of noticing visual tone? If so, I would suggest a ressistance band with the handles on them. The kind that you can put on your feet. Do some high repetition with those are you will actually see your arms change daily. You will be able to notice. You can do quite a few exercising with resistance bands, you can research and just be creative and come up with you own.
My workouts change daily but I workout 6 or sometimes 7 days a week.
Routine might be:
Mon:Jogging/Powerwalking 45minutes, resistance bands ,20 minutes stationary bike
Tues:Elliptical/Powerwalking 60 minutes, resistance bands, 20 minute stationary bike
Wed:Boxing/Elliptical- 60 minutes, resistance bands
Thursday: The Firm, Stationary bike, ab work
Friday:elliptical, stationary bike, walk, resistance bands 80 minutes
Saturday: all machines and as many exercises possible, 2-3 hours
Sunday:it just depends on my mood but I do something
