How often to you exercise and what does it consist of?

    KEEP GOING! 8lbs is good in that amount of time. Unless you are speaking of noticing visual tone? If so, I would suggest a ressistance band with the handles on them. The kind that you can put on your feet. Do some high repetition with those are you will actually see your arms change daily. You will be able to notice. You can do quite a few exercising with resistance bands, you can research and just be creative and come up with you own.

    My workouts change daily but I workout 6 or sometimes 7 days a week.

    Routine might be:
    Mon:Jogging/Powerwalking 45minutes, resistance bands ,20 minutes stationary bike
    Tues:Elliptical/Powerwalking 60 minutes, resistance bands, 20 minute stationary bike
    Wed:Boxing/Elliptical- 60 minutes, resistance bands
    Thursday: The Firm, Stationary bike, ab work
    Friday:elliptical, stationary bike, walk, resistance bands 80 minutes
    Saturday: all machines and as many exercises possible, 2-3 hours
    Sunday:it just depends on my mood but I do something
    Enjoy the feeling of being hungry

    Thanks ladies!

    Nikki - i will try to add in different intervals during my cardio. How long do you do strength trainging for? Do you use machines or free weights?


    Mrstiny - What do you do to tone? I don't want to get bulky

    don't give up....remember that muscles weigh more than fat.......Toning up is great for you..The more muscles you have the better your body will be to burn the calories and the fat stored in the body. Also you might want to try to eat 5 to 6 times a day, make sure it's small portions though. Keep up the GREAT work....it will all work out in the end.

    I like to try for 6 days but thats a stretch...

    I like to do the gym (weights, eliptical, treadmill)
    Exercise videos - Turbo jam is the fav
    I also do walks...anywhere from 5-10 miles a day.

    Some days I do all three and sometimes it will just be the walk and the video.

    At the gym i do the treadmill for 2 miles. I change the incline from 0 - 6 every ten mins.. and sometimes i will do the full mile at 6.

    The eliptical I do incline at 10 for 5mins and then down to 5 for 5mins and keep alternating that for 2 miles.

    The change stresses the body and makes the workout seem less time than it is when you interval train.

    How often to you exercise and what does it consist of?


    I exercise 5-6 days a week for 45 minutes on the elliptical (incline = 7, resistance = 6), and do upper body weights 2 days per week for 15 minutes (not sure how much to do). However, I am not seeing results fast enough. Any suggestions?
    Start: 6/10/08 - 203 lbs
    6/22/08 - 196.4 lbs
    6/25/08 - 195 lbs.
