I "attempted" to run track in high school, and during a training session, I literally had to run OFF the track and barely made it to the grass where I did, indeed, throw up. Only time its ever happened, but my coach said I was dehydrated and had not been eating enough.

I thought is was just me. I notice I yawn a lot when I'm working out, too. I think it may be the body compensating for a lack of oxygen. Glad I'm not alone now.

Yes, once my personal trainer made me do a zillon types of ab exercises..after we were through I didn't feel well and threw up in the locker room..not sure if it was dehydration or just me not having eaten enough.......

I heard this happens alot to runners when doing marathons too..it is not uncommon for one of them to feel wobbly and for whatever reason they throw up..maybe it isthe body's way of saying TIME OUT! i'm not sure but i'm glad that you are okay
I did it!! Reached goal and have been here for quite a while thanks to low carb eating and working out like crazy! Phen didn't work for me, but that isn't to say that there aren't other ways. God bless all of you!

Aww thanks guys for the encouragement! I thought I would be really sore today but I'm not doing too bad. Of course the second day is always the worst and I have to stand on my feet at a tradeshow the next two days, so I might regret it.

I bet you all would be so surprised at what you were able to do on a bike as far as mileage goes. Last year for instance, I decided to walk to work. I live 4 miles away, and I figured at a brisk pace it would take me an hour to an hour and 20 minutes to walk to and from work. My co-workers thought I was nuts, but I had such a great sense of accomplishment for doing it!

Also, the furthest I've gone on a bike is 24 miles to date, but I have a girlfriend that just started riding 4 months ago and she did her first century (100 miles!!) a few weeks ago. It took her all d a m n day, but she was so proud of herself for doing it!

What's the saying? Pain is temporary, Glory is forever!

High intensity exercise diverts blood to your active muscles, reducing the blood supply to your internal organs. Like your intestines, stomach, etc. That can cause feelings of nausea and vomiting.

I teach a class that very nearly makes me puke each time I teach it. It also ...liberates...my plumbing for the rest of the day. I swear, I'm in the bathroom every 30 minutes for the remainder of the day after teaching. I haven't made anyone else puke, but I've seen the signs of them feeling like they might.

I have come close to puking while working out, but have never actually hurled. Congrats on making it up that 1.5 hill. I probably would have looked at it and found a way around it......LOL.

Well, I know that the day before my boyfriend is going on an epic ride, he does something called "carbo loading" where he eats a lot more carbs than he normally would. Come to think of it, our coach would always tell us to eat pasta before a big game in high school. I guess we were probably carbo loading then too.

I know I'm doing a low carb diet per my doctor. I also know that I'm taking about a third of the calories I was before. So I'm sure the lack of calories and carbs makes it hard to sustain that much energy. I just didn't know it could cause me to toss my cookies!

I wonder what causes our lack of ability to excercise on Phen? I used to kick out 30 FAST minutes on the elliptical, but now I about DIE after 10!

Anyhoo, yes, I have gotten nauseous, but never puked. My suggestion would be eat maybe a half a protien or power bar about an hour before you excercise. It will sit better than fruit. I would worry that the acids in most fruits wouldn't digest well with a lot of heat and movement.

Seriously though, great job on the ride though! 13 miles is AWESOME!

I tried eating a banana before I workout, I still felt really naseous. Now I just eat my full breakfast (small bowl of oatmeal or whatever) before working out. That helps with it. But it seems like since starting Phen my body doesn't tolerate exercise as well as it used to.

So I should probably eat like a piece of fruit or something before I do a workout like this. Maybe that will help keep my sugar levels OK? I'm not quite sure what about not eating would cause me to throw up though.

I've done this sort of extreme stuff before, but I was eating a lot more calories when I was doing it. Before phen I was riding like 22 mile rides on Saturdays without too much issue, but now that I've cut back my calories I don't think I could do a ride like that at all.

I have. My first day on Phen. I was walking, then speed walking, then running up and downhill. Next thing I know I'm barfing everywhere. Thankfully no one saw me (I don't think). I hadn't ate anything. Since I've started eating before I go to workout I haven't had the problem. But still, since I've started taking Phen, it seems if I work out really hard my body can't handle it and i get really naseous (sp?) and have to slow down or stop to prevent myself from vomitting.

Default Ever Thrown Up while exercising?

So yesterday I went for a 13 mile bike ride. The ride started off great, I actually was keeping up with my boyfriend, who's an amazing cyclist and can do 50 miles in a day without even getting tired (sometimes I hate him a little ).

The first set of "dips" we get to on the bike trail and he loses me. No problem, we weren't planning on riding together, but I liked that I was keeping up for a bit. Besides, he was off to cycle up some giant hill that he has to ride like 15 miles to reach "just for fun" (did I mention that sometimes I hate him a little? ).

These dips are basically where the trail goes under major roads, so on the way down you're hauling @$$!! But on the way up you are pedaling your booty off trying to make it to the top! So I guess you're hauling @$$ that way too! LOL. There's 6 or 7 of these "dips" in like a 2 mile stretch. And they work you, but I'm keepin on keepin on. All is well.

It starts to flatten out and I'm riding at a decent pace, then, at the very end of this trail, unbeknownst to me is a 1.5 mile steady climb.

"Ugh. Can I do this?" I think. Those dips had kicked my butt a bit, but I still feel like I've got some strength in me. So I start out up the hill, and realize my legs are burning in the first couple pedal strokes, and there's no way I'm going to make it up ...

Then I remember what BF is always trying to teach me... lower the gears til you can pedal without pain. So I do. And now I'm CRAWLING up this hill, my legs are spinning like mad but I'm only going about 8 miles per hour! I'm sure I look like a total dork. Then a group of super skinny spendex wearing road cyclists breeze past me at like 15 mph, and I'm cursing them under my breath, but I'm determined not to give up! And eventually, I see the top!

Woo hoo! I'm almost there! I can finish this! I get to the top, and take a few minutes to catch my breath, take a drink of water before starting back. I can tell my heart is beating pretty good, I'm a bit tired, but I've got a long downhill now to get my energy back... NO PROBLEM!

Well, as I head back through the dips, I'm realizing I have about HALF the energy I had on the way out. So I'm really having to work hard to get up the far side of these dips. On the LAST dip before it's 3 miles of flat surface back to my house, I notice that the climb is crazy steep, so I go into a lower gear.

"How did I not realize how steep that was on my way down it?" I think. But to get home I have to make it up. It's not a big hill, but it's going to take some pedaling to get my big booty up it!

So I pedal my brains out! My chest is burning, my thighs are burning, my butt is burning, and I just... barely... make it....the..top... and WHAM! It hits me like a ton of bricks.

I lunge off my bike, dropping it in the middle of the bike path, double over and hurl what little is in my stomach. So here I am this sweating, heaving, trembling crazy lady on the side of the bike path. I wonder if I pass out right here, would my BF notice on his way back from his ride. I stand up. Get my water bottle off my bike, rinse my mouth out, take a few more sips and decide there's no way I'm not going to finish this ride. So I get back on my bike and pedal home. The last 3 miles probably took me almost as long as the first 10, but I did it.

When I told my BF about throwing up (which is something I've never done before while working out even when I was an athlete). He said he has done it when he's worked out with too few calories in his stomach. Have any of you experienced this before!? If so, have you noticed that it happens on too few calories? I'm worried about it happening again esp. with how little I eat w/ Phen!
