It sounds hard for some people to cut out pasta and bread...but its so easy once you start!! My husban yesterday made me breakfast...eggs, bacon, hashbrowns....lol I was soooooooo tempted to eat them crispy little strings of potato goodness but I didn't. And afterwards I was so proud of myself haha! :BTW::OH and I just got done making the Ham, cream cheese and pickle rolls!!!!!! They are chilling in the refrigerator right now...my mouth is drooling:heartpump:

dumb question I see all of you writing about cheese and creamcheese...I thought all this was fattening and not good while dieting? Maybe you can tell me why its good...do you buy lowfat cheese? do they even make lofat cream cheese ?

If you are on a low carb diet, then you dont have to be strict with the fats you take in. Also, if you LC, watch out for things that are fat free or low fat because there are added sugars in them to make up for the flavor lost from leaving out the fat!

Put it this way....on a LC diet, if you want to eat bacon, then eat it! If you want a big fat steak, you can have it too! LC is about cutting out the "useless" carbs...like the ones from sugar! To make it easier to understand, you just cut out anything white...sugar, flour, pasta, rice, bread...you get the idea....and limited certain fruits. Meats, veggies, cheeses are just fine!

If you are craving something sweet....put some unflavored pork rinds on a microwave safe bowl, sprinkle with cinnamin and Splenda. Nuke for about 30 seconds. They come out tasting like the cinnamin twists from Taco Bell! So yummy!

Cut blocks of chesse into 1x1 squares and place on a nonstick baking sheet. bake at 400 until the ends of the cheese are just starting to brown. Take them out and let cool. They will get very crispy when cool. Your very on Cheese Nips!

Oh and cant forget SF Jello....thats always a lifesaver for me!

I did the low carb diet last year, and in 3 months I lost 30lbs! Without any type of exercise!(Besides chasing a 1yr around) I gave myself a cheat day at least once a week though.

yep it's a beef jerky thing. Its just the name brand of a specific one. They come in all sorts of lengths and flavors. Very good for snacking on. Snap into a slim jim. Sorry, that's the slogan. i'm sure you've seen the goofy commercials with the dude in a leotard with a strange hat on his head. he's supposed to be a package of slim jim.. goofy and usually not very funny to me but my bf thinks the commercials are great! I think the package is usually orange or red or something like that... i could be wrong though. I don't buy them very often.

I forgot to check the carbs but I tried the Kashi Go Lean ceral today and it's sweet and yummy. With milk for breakfast or dry for a snack. I do know it has 8g of fiber though.

Oh and the Ham Roll ups are my fav I always make them for our pool parties and the kids LOVE them too.

I am trying to avoid the saturated fats too so my list will be a bit different.
I do have some cheese every day, but try to stay away from a lot of the processed meats as they only seem to add to the constipation that phen causes. So here are some:

Almonds, Walnuts or Peanuts (all of them have similar protein) almonds have the least saturate fat
Edamame (dry roasted or cooked w/ salt)(this is killer protein and fiber with few calories)
Cottage Cheese (try it with berries... they have some carbs but their fiber content makes them OK)
Celery w/ Tuna and/or Almond butter
Dill pickles (sometimes with a slice of cheese. yummier than it sounds)
    Sunflower Seeds
    41 down 36 to go!

    5/12/08 - 232.5 - Started Phen/lexapro combo
    5/29/08 - 218 -14.5 pounds in 2 weeks
    6/12/08 - 209.5 -8.5 for a total of 23 pounds in the first month!
    7/10/08 - 200 -9.5
    8/07/08 -192 -8
    9/18/08 - 185.5 -6.5
    12/8/08-191 +5.5
