We get caught up in the fariy tale of life and want to believe that men(people) are good deep down...sadly this is not always the case. All I can say is.....when he realizes he screwed up and wants to get back together w/ you....I strongly suggest you reread this post and don't. I went through a similar (although not as bad) situation with my husband -- we weren't married then. We got back together and have been together 9 years since then. We've gotten married and things are ok....but I still havent' gotten over the past. I love him....but if I had to do it over again I wouldn't have gotten back together with him. Good luck.....you sound wonderful and I'm sure you'll find someone that appreciates you.

I know this really hurts, much like a divorce and sometimes you feel like you will never get through it. When I went through a heart ache, I journaled for awhile, just to have a place to put my thoughts and keep myself sane. You might try that, it helped me to focus.

Also, for the next guy, before date again, write a list of all the qualities you liked about this man and the ones you didn't and from other past relationships too. Take the positive list and look for a man with those qualities and don't compromise. Please don't fall in the same pattern again, it is so easy to do.

I wish you the best. Lots of bad guys out there and you deserve better. Do you have insurance? It might be a good time to see a counselor, to help you get to know yourself again. You sound like you may have sacrificed a lot of yourself for him and now you may need to find that person again.
