when did she have the baby? sorry if i missed that somewhere.
Lots of pics on that site...You can spot me at my heaviest ever around Christmas time this year..ugh..
No other medical problems (that we know of!) - Everyone on both sides of my family seem to have stroked out at appx 55 years old or so...I think my mother is the exception.
My wife is adopted with no medical background, so the poor boy better eat and do right from the beginning. Unfortunately my wife can't breastfeed or use Phen because she has Chrons Disease...She's about 20 lbs under her pre-pregnancy weight tho and dropping!
Thanks - it's been reported that I do good work....!
Congratulations!!!! Your little boy is SO cute!!! Congrats on the birth also!!!!
7lbs to goal

Err - siggy pic didnt seem to work - here's a link!
Ok, 3 months on Phen, lost 40lbs total. Took a month off of it, gained 3lbs back. Didnt reach my gial weight of 180lbs the first time around. Talked to my family DR about it today, and he agreed to prescribe phen for me for the next 3 months. So no more weight loss clinic for the time being. By him doing it, I'm saving about $200 over the next 3 months. Fortunately he was familiar with the drug, and willing to prescribe since I had been on it previously without growing a third arm out of my forehead. I think it helped that he's 400+ lbs himself, and understands the plight of being a fat man.
So - let's try to lose 20 more pounds in 3 months!
BTW - hopefully my sig includes a pic of the boy! Thx for the comments!
Puddles.. welcome and keep it up
Inspired28,, It seems that when you get a little under 20lb of your goal that you reach a plateau(like me) so keep doing what you are doing and keep your appointment. . You may find that Phen helps you reach your goal a little faster
I finally had time to take a nap and now my baby is 18 years old!
It goes fast but it seems like it's moving slow when you're having a tough time with parenting!
Awwww.. a weee little one!!! YEAH!!!!!
CONGRATS!!! YOUR A DADDY!!!!!!!!!
too precious.... and I know that you've probably heard this one before but I am going to say it too: "Enjoy it, they grow up too fast!!"
I blinked my baby is now 16 months... it seems like yesterday we brought her home.
hey mcgee, welcome to the board !! congrats on the baby and your weight loss . i know what you mean about having a dad over weight. my dad was 700 lbs. i know alot of people thought all he did was eat, but that was not the case. he had alot of thyroid problems and other things. but i lost him 5 years ago and i miss him like crazy !! but he tryed sooo hard to lose the weight. they couldnt do surgery or anything on him. so i know how ya feel that is one reason im trying to lose myself. i have 2 girls.....they are 15 & 16 . i dont want them to make the same mistakes as i did. but good luck with your journey !!

BTW, inspired28, my advice is probably wrong - but - if you are losing weight doing what you do now, don't stop doing it. I'd wait till I hit a plateu (um, I did) and THEN go see the doc.
Thanks for the encouragement. Show me proof that guys have more will power!
My diet - ugh. Ive gone from eating whatever I want, when I want - to eating about half of what I used to. MY biggest change was probably breakfast (two gravy biscuits, scrambled egg and sausage pretty much every day) to one scrambled egg and a piece of sausage. Splenda in my coffee now, but I still use a teaspoon of cream. For lunch, I eat most of one of the frozen 'diet' meals. I usually cook dinner, but as I said - I'm eating about half as much of it as I did.
Exercise? Whats that?
We have a Gazelle type machine that we've had for years that we've never used. I try to do 20 minutes on it every other day (unless I push mowed half an acre - on a hill - uphill, both way - in the snow) and today is my day. I've lost another three pounds since my first post. Wish my pants would start fitting better soon.
McGee - wonderful to have you on.....although I'll be honest, I always feel robbed when a man is also reaching for a healthy goal weight at the same time as myself wether its online or in person men have such an easier time and willpower that could knock down a horse Im just selfish I guess.....so tell us more about you, what type of diet are you implementing low carbs, low calories? and your work out routine? I do have to comment on your blessed wife - oh the joys of pregnancy........my heart bleeds for her- by no means am I referring to her fragile condition but more or less the emotional heartache she must be going through to be packing around 40 extra pounds and constantly starving only to have a goal oriented husband dropping weight like hoop shots must be hard, so try to see where her insecurity is coming from on the food nazi fear lol (which Im sure you do) How exciting though A BABY - you sound like a wonderful father already, putting the effects of an overweight father before your own emotional hang ups - kudos to you - nothing more impressive than a good daddy!! Best of luck in your journey (even if secretly Im hating you for making it sound easy lol ) and I hope to read more from you!!
