I have to admit that I enjoy a good audiobook when I am doing cardio stuff; like Dean Koontz or Stephen King. When I am lifting weights I like to have something brutal. Deicide or Slayer works great for this. Can't help it. I'm an old time metal head.

Ok, you and I could be twins.......LOL. I'm most definitely an 80's girl. I was a Duran Duran freak back in the day and I love me some 80's hair band music, especially power ballads.

I listen to my daughter's college band- Ohio University Marching 110, my son's high school band, some Queen, Paralyzer by Finger 11, Pretty Vegas by INXS, a couple of John Anderson songs, Quiet Riot, and Food by Jason Mraz, among many other songs.
Don't knock marching band music if you walk. You'll find yourself marching along to some of the stronger drumbeats. It helps mix it up a bit. Of course, it also helps that they play good rock music and not yet another version of "Godspell." Some of the selections are Panama by Van Halen, Creatures, Thunderstruck by AC/DC, Light Up by Styx, and Enter Sandman (don't remember the artist). No circle-y band music for workouts, please.
I do listen to Evita when I am mowing, though. I have to be careful because I have a tendency to sing along rather loudly which I am sure is not a treat for the neighbors.

Of course, I'm so danged proud my daughter is a member of the Marching 110 that I just have to put a link in here so those who are interested can check out what type of music and band I'm referring to:
    http://www.ohiou.edu/marching110/mul...deo/video.html
    The requisite pic is attached.
Going way off topic here, I should really go to bed....

Wow, some of these songs I totally didn't know, so I had to search for them on iTunes... I even downloaded a few to add to my workout playlist! I could go on for days here, but these are some that always get me going! You might not recognize some of the names, but I think you would recognize the songs if you heard them.

Here It Goes Again - O.K. Go
Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet
The Sweet Escape - Gwen Stefani
    Walkie Talkie Man - Steriogram
    Ride - The Vines

Swing, Swing - The All-American Rejects
Baby Got Back - Sir Mix-a-lot
    Video Killed The Radio Star
    Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
    Wannabe - Spice Girls
    Candyman - Christina Aguilera
Canned Heat - Jamiroquai (the song Napoleon Dynamite dances to)
    4 Minutes - Madonna & Justin Timberlake
    SW: 307 LBS 9/16/10.
In 2008 I lost 91 pounds, but I've gained it all back... so here I am, at square one, but not for long.

The best workout song of all time (for me) is Spin, Spin Sugar by the Sneaker Pimps.

i don't listen to music when i walk on the treadmill....and that's my normal workout.....but i watch this show on BBC tv called "you are what you eat"....i LOVE watching that show....or "how clean is your house" .....other than that the only workout i get is jump roping when the kids have recess at work...or bouncing a basketball against the wall repeatedly. hey, it's working haha!

everyone trying to lose weight should watch that show you are what you eat....it's so good.

I am an 80s baby and I am really going to date myself when I tell you what's in my iPod: A very odd mix of Tears for Fears, Guns 'N Roses, Metallica, REM, The Smiths, Bronski Beat, the B-52s, Rush, Megadeth, Duran Duran, and a lot more 80s junk.

I also mix in a little dance music, like Moby, Fatboy Slim, the Groove Armada, Bodyrox and stuff like that.
