Mustangsally... Yeah thats the site i went to.. im not active and mine was still 2200 a day
well i am 5'2"...right now if i type in my stats at one of those fitness type websites...it says i need about 2700 calories a day...because i am REALLY active...when i was on phen i stuck to 1200-1500...now (actually since august--not counting the RECENT HOLIDAY EATING EXTRAVAGANZA) i stay between 1500-2000...
this is a one of those sites that tells all you need to know and stuff you wish you didnt know about you...
I have the same problem with regards to eating at night. I'm a person that likes to stay up at night so if I don't have a big dinner I'm starving and looking for snacks. After talking to my doc she told me that I'm looking for snack because I'm exhausted and my body is looking for fuel to help me stay awake. So now I try to go to bed at a decent hour (10-11pm) and I try and eat around 7ish. It helps somewhat, but if I still think about snacks I'll have some tea or brush my teeth. In order to feel full at dinner I eat salad before and after my main meal.
Everything you are doing seems really good. I would just raise the cals thats all. I went into a plateau for 8 months and it was because I wasn't eating enough. Go figure!
Thats great brismommy... You and I think alot.. I to did that too. Mine was 1600 as well keep in touch woth me so we can see how were doing.
But.. really.. the only way I am going to consume 1200 is to eat all the wrong foods..
jen fri..........well i have a 52 oz water jug.. And when I was pregnant.. I drank 1 1/2 of those... So Thats going to be my goal LOL You cant go wrong with water
I just bought a few of the Smart Ones and Healthy Choice meals. The Smart Ones are lower in calories than the Healthy Choice so those will probably be for dinner. I'm 5'3 and I'm trying to hit 900-1000 calories a day. I looked up my basal metabolic rate online and just to sustain my body requirements I need like 1637 calories. I think it's probably a better bet to start out high and adjust as we go. I'm just starting out on the Phen too. My daily goals right now are the 900-1000 calories, drink at least 100 ozs of water, and get at least 30 minutes of exercise. That is my game plan which went into effect yesterday.
Ty trent your a sweetheart.
I dont know.. Dumbfox.. I ll just have to see what my body tells me.. yano.. I am eating light.. maybe thats where the prolem is. Eating light.. means I have to eat twice as much. so not 3 meals.. 6!.... going back to the cheeseburgers and Fries.. Sounds like a better idea so I dont have to eat so much..
Seems like you have everything right in order. Everyone's body is different so sometimes you have to play around to see what works best for you. 100oz of water is alot I would say maybe 80. I drink 9 bottles of water per day @ 9 oz each. So, that is 81 oz of water per day.
Best of luck to you!!!
Hmmm well I think im going to cut out 600. and try for 800-900 then... I just bought like 100$ on lean cuisine and smart ones. Got to give my props to DIET Va splash. :spider_red:
But anywho... the calories in the LC meals. Are like 280. I have not ate 3 meals in one day since I was pregant. I do not get hungry all day... Im telling ya. So to eat 3 times a day.. and on Phen... My brain says.. Are you kidding me.. I will prob. get the feeling to throw up.
I tried phen for 1 week last yr. And I came home that night. Had one bite of food.. Instantly did nto want anoother bite. So how am I going to force 3 meals down.... ( sigh)
My Problem.. is night. I want to eat a huge meal and dont feel satisfied till I am FULL. And if I am not feeling full.. then I find myself eating snacks. up till 2 am in the morning!!
You need to start out with between 1200-1400 calories per day. Do this for 2 weeks...if you lose NOTHING, then drop you calories to 1000-1200. Going below 1000 is not going to be good for you, regardless of height. Even at 5'2" and assuming a sedentary lifestyle, your daily caloric needs just to sustain involuntary body functions and a sharp mind is 1400 roughly. (Even at your goal weight, your daily caloric needs will be 1200 roughly.) Cutting more than 500 calories a day from this rate is going to lead to nutrient loss, muscle wasting and eventually a weakened immune system. If you want to lose weight faster, then you're going to have to expend excess calories by increasing your exercise.
Deanna, noone knows your body but you. It may be that you want to find an alternative dinner arrangement if you're not seeing teh results, however just play with it and see what works for you. Have fun with it. It needs to be something you can live with. Try not to go without eating too much. The Phen will absolutely make you forget to eat sometimes, so just be aware that you have to eat to survive.
You have a pm my3sons
Trent. Well I just been reading posts.. and it does seem like dif people have there own intake of calories. Maybe 600 is to less for me. But i was refering to when I am to busy and I forget to eat... That I should have something.. SOMETHING is better than nothing... Right.
I dont eat much anyways.. I have a snack. for lunch. and then I wait till Rick gets home to eat a huge dinner. LOL.. right theres where I have gained the weight. aat 9 pm everynight.
I would agree with everything you said. In my experience, being 4'11", I do not go over 900 calories a day. That is my max. I try to stay around 700 calories a day. And I drink lots of water like you said. And I have never had a problem losing weight. I think I have too much fat to go into starvation mode anytime soon. But, I would say just start off slow and if it's not working, then you know something's gotta change.
You must be the change you want to see in the world. - Gandhi
I'm no expert but I'd have to agree that 600 calories seems kinda low for you. I know I've seen most woman's caloric goals to be at 1200 calories. Where you are a tad shorter maybe 900-1000 would be good for you? Especially where you are working out you'll need extra calories to maintain your lean muscle. As long as your calories come from the PROPER foods you should be ok...but I'd give some serious thought about 600...just seems too low!! Hate to sabotage yourself by triggering starvation mode, and your body converting everything to fat and using your muscle for energy. Just my rookie 2cents!!

Hey Deanna, some of the things you said, I am not familiar with, but that don't mean anything. So many people on Phen do so many different things. You will get to know your body and what you can handle and what works so what you're planning on doing now, may not be necessarily what you end up doing.
1- They say to drink the amount of ounces as your weight divided by 2. So 100 ounces for you is probably more than enough, however as much as you can drink, is great. If you don't drink enough water the Phen tends to not work quite as well. You won't necessarily dehydrate unless you just aren't drinking anything. When the Phen doesn't work as well, then as a result it don't suppress your appetite as much, so essentially you're correct with that you will get hungry.
2- Whether you take it all in the morning or half in the morning and half in the afternoon, that's completely up to you. I take a whole one in the morning and it works just fine for me all day. You may want to try it both ways and see which you like better, just don't take more than your whole pill in a day.
3- As long as you are doing some sort of activity, it's better than sitting on your butt. Do something that's reasonable for you at first and then build up to a goal that you have set for yourself. Play it safe though with your C-Section. Treadmill is great exercise. Anything that will get your heart rate up for at least 30 minutes is great.
4- I've never heard of short people and taller people requiring different intakes, and you will heear many different answers to this question. Experiment with it for a while. I would try about 1000 calories at first and see how that does for you, I wouldn't get too low on calories though. I have 900 a day and it's been working great for me.
Hope that helps. You're going to do great. You've got a plan, which is more than a lot of newbies. You're a step ahead of the game.
I'd have to agree. I'd get in a min of 64oz of water but 100oz is good too. I'd also take in at least 900-1200 calories. Myself, i am 5'10" so i don't know how it (calories) affects shorter people, i understand your thinking in that 1200 cal might be too much for your body, i don't know if it's correct or i agree, but i understand it. However- i think 600 is FAR too little. your not 3ft tall...so why cut calories in 1/2 (of the 1200 typically recommended?). You don't want your body in starve mode.
SW ON PHEN: 251
When your body goes without calories, it eventually goes into the starvation mode, which means it holds on to everything to prepare itself to keep the body going. Same when you don't provide your body with water. If you don't have water, your body holds onto every single oz FOR your body. When you drink water, it nourishes and flushes your organs (toxins) and is EXCELLENT for your skin. If you drink your water, your body continues flushing itself and therefore does not have to hold onto the water which = water weight.
In my opinion, Deanna, 600 calories is not going to help you. That is wayyy too less of calories for your body not to go into the starvation mode, I think.
I am of the same height as you are. I follow, or plan to begin on the 9th, inducting with low carb. I've always had great results. Whatever diet you follow, I think it is best to eat smaller meals every 3 hours , it keeps the bodys metabolism revving and in its own way prevents your body from craving the no-no's.
Seems you are taking the 37.5's. I take half in the morning and the other half NO LATER than 1pm IF I take the 2nd half at all. I have a problem with late afternoon and evening eating, so often times it is better for me to take the other half.
I also had a C-section, 2 of them , and began my workouts on the 4th week postpartum. I think you said your baby is 4 months. Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, it is ok for you to begin the exerise routines, and the elleptical for 30 min a day 5 days a week is going to benefit you greatly, alongside your phen and following a great eating plan.
Hope to have helped you a little. PM if you'd like.

I have been watching , reading, and doing some posting of my own. But let me get this straight.
1- I am to drink at least 100 oz a day of water.
Or maybe thats my goal.
If I dont drink enough water. I will poss. get hungry and dehydrate.
2- It's better to take half in the morning and half at 1 or 2 pm.
3- Try to at least do some sort of activity. Me personaly speaking.. I will walk on treadmil for 30 min a day. 5 days a week. ( had c section with son have to keep it cool)
4- I have learned that dif. people have an intake of certain Calories. Taller people need more than shorter people. I am 5.2. So I am thinking I'll take somewhere between 600 and max 1000. Does that sound right?
And..........Is this true? You lose MORE when you HAVE ate that week. You lose LESS... When you HAVE NOT eaten much that week
