Work out 4x's a wk
We just played this last night at some friends! We got it for our friends kids for Christmas and so even the adults had to try it out. It is quite a workout and I told dh I want one now!!
I LOVE DDR. My 17 year old son and I have been playing for a couple of years now. We got an arcade quality metal dance floor for Christmas!!! No more sliding around.
Rebecca- It was like $40 or something, and it is very fun, tough too, (if u want it to be)
Kathy- I've only tried the x-box version but I've read that they are the same exact game wheater it is on a playstation, x-box or your PC. As far as the music, you can choose, they have hip hop, 80's, dance, etc.
jenny-how much was the ''game''? i would love that we just bought my son one....well, my hubby and my son. that would be fun. im gonna get it this weekend if i can.
Those of you that have tried this....do you prefer x-box or playstation?
What's the music like? Any recommendations?
I was looking at DDR and Yourself fitness just before Christmas and was thinking about asking for it as gift from hubby. He seemed to already have an idea of what to get me, so I just figured I'll pick it up later for myself.
Turns out he got me a pair of really nice figure skates. I am a huge fan (spectator only) and have always wanted to learn how to skate, but you know how you always put those things off until you lose weight?? Well, that's basically what I did. I just went for my first time to our local rink yesterday and it was awesome! I was pretty wobbly at first, but by the time the session was up, I was doing pretty good....only had one fall, which considering it was a public session with all sorts of people to navigate around, wasn't too bad. I'm a tad sore today, though, but it's a good sore....it didn't feel like a workout.
That's really cool, I didn't know such a thing existed. Hmmm...now if I can just get hubby away from Madden 06, then I can have the playstation!

I have "Yourself Fitness" for our X-box. It is like a personal trainer for you, you build a profile the first time you use it, it takes awile the first time, they have you do different excercises to see how much you can do at first to test your endurance, you put in your resting heartrate, your elevated heartrate, all that info. Then, you can set goals, get recipes and keep track of your food. If you have equipment (excercise ball, hand weights, step stool, etc) You can enter it in and your trainer will incorperate that into your session. It is an awsome program, you can even do yoga, kickboxing, you name it!
If you want to check it out, here is the link:
I just found out that you can get it for playstation or your PC too!

I just wanted to say......i got dance dance revolution for my playstation for Christmas...and it's awesome! I'm assuming everyone knows what DDR is......anyways there is a workout mode where it tells you calories burned, which I don't know how accurate it is but you put in your weight and everything.
It's really fun, and a major change from regular workouts- it keeps you entertained cause you have to make the right steps. I would recommend this for anyone who has a playstation or whose kids have a playstation- you can get an extra pad and your kids can use it with you if you want, in the regular mode. For the game and pad it's around $60. Anyways, that's my idea for the day!
