Can I take phentermine with other medications?

Some over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription medications are safe to take alongside phentermine, while others should be avoided since they produce dangerous interactions.

Always ask your doctor or pharmacist before combining any medication or supplement with phentermine.

Medications that should NOT be taken while taking phentermine include:

  • MAOIs
  • Amantadine
  • Amphetamines
  • Caffeine pills
  • Chlophendianol
  • Cocaine
  • Medicine for asthma/breathing problems
  • Medicine for cold, sinus problems or allergies
  • Methylphenidate
  • Nabilone
  • Pemoline
  • Antidepressants (unless explicitly instructed to do so by the doctor that prescribed phentermine)
  • Any other diet pills/supplements

This is NOT a complete list, so it is critical that you check with a medical professional before adding any new medication or supplement to your routine.
