I'm sharing this for all to read, from a local Health Club.

Whether you are starting an exercise routine or a new diet it is going to require patience and persistence. You did not become who you are over night, so don't expect your behaviors to change in a day or two. Begin slowly. Choose one or two aspects of diet or exercise to focus on. It could be a five-minute walk or taking two flights of stairs. It could be keeping track of your calories 5 days out of the week or eating a fruit once a day. Do whatever it takes to get you moving in the right direction.

I think this is excellent advice, does anyone agree???

Hi quanap:
I think the best type of diet would be to limit the food intake, try to keep at a "1000" calorie diet. Any book store would have the pocket type calorie counter to help you maintain that goal. But remember, to burn off those calories & keep toning your body by starting a moderate exercise program, by walking, joining a local health club, getting with a friend who shares the same goal, and most important, drink plenty of water daily to keep your system flushed. I hope I gave you some good tips. Good luck. (Oh, and think positive) I know you can do it, and so do you!!!

I never count calories and recently found "Fitday" that helps alot. I realised that fruits / vegetables is somehow considered carbo in that... is it true?

Yes, I tend to agree with you on that. But have you heard the facts about Almonds? They are:

ˇ High in protein - 1oz of almonds = 6g of protein
ˇ High in monounsaturated fat - the good fat associated with reducing risk of
heart disease.
ˇ Rich in important minerals, including calcium, magnesium and phosphorous.
ˇ Higher in fiber than most nuts
ˇ A good source of vitamin E

okay, maybe you should supplement these by taking some type of over the counter vitamin which contains the above. This would be cheaper, of course than getting a prescribed vitamin from your doctor.
