    Default First mini-goal MET!! :D

My first mini-goal when I started all of this was to be at 210 by Valentine's Day. This morning at my official weigh in, the scale showed me 210 exactly! I couldn't believe it, I was sooo excited

Next week I'm chaperoning a group of 50-something 14 year olds on a trip to Washington DC from Maine; we're making lots of stops and some of them will be VERY fattening stops. So it will definitely be a test of my new-found willpower Wish me luck!

Next mini-goal is ONE-DERLAND by my birthday on March 25th

    Congrats!!!

I'm new here. To hear you say that you met your mini goal ahead of time is great. I set my first mini goal for the end of Feb. so i'm hoping i can get there before then. I've never been real good at healthy eating but for the past week i've done fairly well.

    Keep up the great work..

Darsa- way cool name, BTW! -
Congratulations on meeting your goal!! Double- no TRIPLE- congrats. on meeting it AHEAD OF TIME!!! Good for you! It feels so wonderful to see that your efforts are paying off!

Now, it's time to maintain those AND reach for more! With your upcoming trip, you already know you're gonna be placed in situations where you may be tempted to eat foods that will sabotage your hard-won, much-desired results. THAT is a positive step in the right direction- congratulations! Think of how you can avoid the temptations, which I'm sure you already have! What will you do to resist the temptations?

I suggest packing baggies of non-perishable healthy snacks in 1 serving portions. When my husband and I travel, I take these filled with raisins, cranberries, walnuts, sliced apples, oranges, a 100 calorie granola bar, flavor sticks and bottles of water, and cups of yogurt. That way, when everyone else is having an unhealthy snack, you'll be able to eat with them, but you can enjoy a better alternative. It may not be as rewarding as the doughnuts everyone els is eating, but at least you won't appear unsociable by not eating, and you can self-talk yourself into being satisfied by your healthy snack because you KNOW you are making a smarter choice- one that won't wreck the pounds you have already lost. To me, nothing is worse than "finding" the pounds you've already lost, and having to "RE-LOSE" them!!! UGH!

If you find it hard to resist their foods, just remind yourself how great you felt this morning when you saw the number on the scale that you had been reaching for. Weigh your options- what will make you feel better for longer- 1. eating the doughnut OR 2. looking smokin' hot in your jeans, shorts, bikini, etc., this summer???

Hope this helps you reach MORE of your mini-goals sooner!

Good luck on your trip- be strong!

BTW- sometimes just chewing a piece of gum helps me get through a craving!
