Yay! It works!
Hi there! I just wanted to let anyone who has just started taking Phentermine, or who is considering Phentermine, I found this website very helpful. It’s been exactly a month (today!) that I first started taking it, and I’ve lost 25lbs so far! I started at 287 (ish) and today I’m a very happy 262. I did get a little dry mouth, and it caused a tingley sensation in my cheeks when it was harder for me to walk some days (I’m in Florida, so it’s very hot).
My doctor recommended a 2,000 calorie diet to start, but I literally have to force myself to eat most of the time, so I probably stayed between 1,000 and 1,500 calories. I was on another diet that recommended an apple a day, and (for my weight) drinking 1.1 gallons of water per day, so I fill up 4, 1 liter bottles of Evian (my sister and I find that Evian and Figi bottles make it much easier to drink so much water) every night in the fridge with filtered water, and drink them throughout the day. It’s also silly to take this drug and not get some cardio in, so I walk 1.9 miles (+stretching=45min) 3x a week. My calves are toned, my thighs are getting there, my uh.. derriere is about ½ it’s size (!), and my face is a lot less full… I can feel a collar bone of mine pretty well, too. It’s lovely. I know they can’t prescribe this drug long-term for me, but I know I couldn’t have been so strict about my eating habits otherwise.
About what to eat, I love, love, love hamburgers, so if you do too, I would recommend Morning Star veggie burgers like Grillers Prime with a whole wheat bun, or 97% lean ground beef in those little packets (that’s what I use for taco night-complete with vegetables, fat-free sour cream, salsa, and hard-shell taco shells). I start with Special K in the morning, and for cinnimon-raisin toast days I use Brummel and Brown yogurt-butter. I did get fast food once, and I felt sick (both physically and emotionally) afterwards. A friend in a similar situation said, “It’s just not worth it! It’s what made you fat in the first place!” Now her voice is like my food-conscience. It’s important to have friends and/or family that understand and support you. Good luck!!!

I just take things one day at a time
