Default Any suggestions
Okay, my first week I lost 7 pounds, then the second week I gained and lost 2lbs, bringing me to NO weight loss in week two. I am on week three and No weight loss. I eat low carb-Dr. said 11 carbs A DAY! I drink lots of water and I do cardio at the gym 3x a week. I eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies...I don't know what else to do. I take 37.5 every morning when I get to work. I usually don't eat dinner, I will have a low carb protein shake though after I work out. HELP please

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY DO NOT GIVE UP!!! SOMETIMES IT TAKES A LITTLE WHILE FOR THE PHEN TO JUMPSTART YOUR SYSTEM, BUT YOU DID LOSE SOMETHING THE FIRST WEEK. SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT EXCEPT THE NOT EATING DINNER PART. YOU SAID YOU EXCERCISE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND EAT LOTS OF FRUIT AND VEGGIES. HMMMM HAVE YOU TALKED TO YOUR DOC ABOUT IT??? HAVE YOU HAD YOUR THYROID CHECKED?? IF YOU ARE REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT IT I WOULD CALL THE DOC AND ASK HIM WHAT HE THINKS. BUT SERIOUSLY GIVE IT SOME TIME TO REALLY WORK. LET US KNOW HOW IT GOES.

I had to have blood work done to check my thyroid and I assume my doc would've said if anything was wrong. Is it bad to not eat dinner?

YEAH YOUR PROBABLY RIGHT THE DOC MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING IF THE TESTS CAN BACK ABNORMAL. BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD WAIT TILL YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT AND TALK TO HIM OR HER ABOUT THE ISSUES YOU ARE FACING. DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ANYTIME SOON?? AS FOR NOT EATING DINNER WELL ITS PROBABLY NOT HELPING YOUR SITUATION, I MEAN YOUR ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO EAT THREE MEALS A DAY OR FIVE SMALLER MEALS. GIVE ME A RUN DOWN OF A TYPICAL DAY, WHAT DO YOU EAT AND HOW MUCH WATER DO YOU DRINK?

I eat 2-3 eggs for breakfast. I get to work and take my meds, fruit (an apple or an orange) around 10:30 or so, then lunch is a serving of protein (chicken, steak) and a salad with Balsalmic Vingarette. Then as a snack when I get off work I usually eat a fresh avacado or a small piece of chicken--this is never after 7pm. If I go to the gym that day I drink an 8oz protein shake after I work out. I also snack on minimal almonds or sunflower seeds throughout the day.
There have been a few slip ups though. Like I had a chicken sandwhich the other day, but I took off the top bun, so I'd have less carbs. And I had a small serving of Dreyers slow churned icecream the other night.
I have an appointment on Monday with doctor. The last two times I had an a ppointment, the doctor had to leave early for some reason and was not there---didn't even call me to let me know, I just showed up to have the staff let me know she had gone.

WELL IT SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE EATING JUST ABOUT RIGHT, AND EXERCISING WELL TOO. WHAT ABOUT YOUR WATER INTAKE?? THAT SEEMS KINDA FISHY THAT TWICE NOW THE DOC HAS LEFT AND NO ONE HAS HAD THE CURTISY TO CALL YOU AND LET YOU KNOW. IS THIS A NEW DOC FOR YOU OR ONE YOU HAVE BEEN SEEING FOR A WHILE?? I THINK I WOULD CALL AHEAD OF TIME JUST TO BE SURE SHE IS GOING TO BE THERE BEFORE YOU SHOW UP.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the doc. It is a new doc. My first time on Phen I;ve been on it since March 21. I have only seen her the one time when I began. I haven't even been able to weigh in on the same scale since I started. I am using one at home. I am thinking about changing doctors, but then I have to pay the start up fee again. I haven't had any of my B-12 shots that the doctor recommended once a week--cause she wasn't there.

I THINK IF IT WAS ME THE DAY OF MY NEXT APPOINTMENT I WOULD CALL AN HOUR BEFORE AND MAKE SURE THE DOC IS GOING TO BE THERE, IF NOT I WOULD LOOK INTO FINDING A NEW ONE. YOU NEED A DOC THAT IS GOING TO BE THERE FOR YOU, SOMEONT TO SUPPORT YOU AND LISTEN TO YOUR THOUGHTS AND CONCERNS WHILE BEING ON THIS MED. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE SHE COULD CARE LESS AND THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU NEED. HOW ARE YOU GETTING YOUR SCRIPT FILLED IF SHE HASN'T BEEN SEEING YOU??

Default Daily Carbs!
You should be eating more than 11 carbs per day. In addition, you should find out how many calories your particular body burns at rest (MBR). How many calories are you eating daily. This is very important. If you do not eat enough food during the day [calorie intake], your body will think it's starving . . . Please talk to your physician because 11 carbs per day is not enough.

Thank you girls for the advice. I'm starting to think my doc is a crock!! 11 carbs a day is really hard. ANd apparently it is not working for me. She didn't go over my MBR or anything like that. She just told me if I ate 11 carbs a day, excercised, and took my meds I would see the weight melt off. Not so much melting going on right now
