Its my day off and watching tv, they just showed the plane crash into the trade center, then while showing the footage another plane flew into the other tower. This must be a teroist attack. This is so sad, they don't know how many people are dead. They are right now saying the planes were hijaked and purposely flown into the buildings.

the pentagon just got hit, by a plane they think.
I can see the smoke from where I live. One of the towers has colapsed. The Pentagon got bombed. All of DC is being evacuted. You can't get in and out of NY. No Air traffic today. They think another bomb went off in DC because they see smoke.
One of the planes that flew into 1 of the towers was an AA 737 that had been high-jacked, and it had passengers on it.
Robin this is so sad, I can't stop thinking about the people (families) on those planes. The pentagon got attacked too, unreal.
A second explosion just went off at the Pentagon. Where is Bush? Is he in Florida?

I'm watching all of this on local news. It's UNREAL! People where jumping or falling out of the Towers. They had a camera on the one Tower when it collapsed. You couldn't really see it but you heard this loud noise and saw a puff of smoke.
My gawd... Im listening to the radio -- jeez, Im getting the chills.. This is crazy!! What the heck is wrong with these people!?!!?!?!!?

A car bomb just exploded outside the State Dept.
Robin they say there is another plane flying around that got hijaked, they don't know where it is> Bush is in FLA, flew out a while ago. 60 people on one plane and 90 on another, those poor people, this is devastating.
Please keep posting. We're in Scotland and can't get into CNN or any of the network news websites because they're all overwhelmed.
trmmon, Both world trade center buildings have collapsed after each having a plane flown into them, then the Pentagon was attacked by plane all this happend within 1 hour, white house evacuated, all airports closed, although they say there is another 1 or 2 planes that were hijaked. This is awful. So many people died today. Obviously they are warning all americans to be careful abroad. I am from UK and my family is watching it on tv over there now, so you should be able to see it on tv.
I wouldn't say this is happening because George W. is president. Not at all. I'm scared to think of who is behind this. Is it from another country? Like the bombing at the World Trade Center in 1993? Or is it a militia group within the United States -- something similar to what Timothy McVeigh was a part of? When is Terry Nichols supposed to be going to trial again? Wasn't this coming up soon?
Yikes! I suppose they don't want to give out much more in details about what is going on. We just have a radio here at work to hear details -- and it is a distance away from me. Since most of the online news stations are down, it's hard to get ANY info. Scary.
My fear is that if this is a terrorist attack from outside of the US... well, I work at the Trade Center in Hutchinson, KS. It isn't federal building, but if you weren't from the US, how would you know??

Plane Down in Pennsylvania
A large plane has crashed in western Pennsylvania.
Officials at Somerset County Airport say the plane went down just north of the airport about 80 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
The plane is believed to be a Boeing 767.
It went down about 10 a.m., Eastern Time, about eight miles east of Jennerstown.
The crash came after this morning`s terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and then another plane crash at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
It is not clear if the crash is related to the others and there`s no word on injuries or fatalities.
"In Florida, Bush was reading to children in a classroom at 9:05 a.m. when his chief of staff, Andrew Card, whispered into his ear. The president briefly turned somber before he resumed reading. He addressed the tragedy about a half-hour later."
we all need to pray for the families, this is very unreal and scary. I can't believe this is happening to America......
Am I the only one who just wants to pull my family together and make everyone stay home today? I am scared for all Americans right now and just pray that this will be over soon. Just when you think it's over something else happens.
What have you heard about the State Dept? I heard that a car bomb went off there but they haven't said too much about it...

Have you seen the firemen on TV? They are coughing and not doing very well because of the smoke and soot. So many of them are in NY and they were trying to rescue the people in the Towers. There are fireman trapped in the rubble and there are reports that you could hear some of them on cell phones/walkie talkies who were crying and asking for help because they couldn't get out of the mess.

I have been watching this all morning on the news. It is terrible. I will continue praying for all families involved. I feel like taking my children out of school. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose not to have children. It is so sad to bring them into this world.

They just said on CBS that a fieman speaking in anonynomity said the death toll is more than likely in the thousands...
Hi all. My husband works in Manhattan, not near the World Trade Center. When I saw the explosion on CNN, I started calling him & paging him. Nothing. I called his secretary & she was crying with worry. So, I wandered around the house fighting the hysteria. 2 hours later, he called. He's fine, just couldn't get through. One of my brothers apparently was near the World Trade Center as it was happening and ran north & he's OK.
Say prayers for the people trapped in the Towers, for the innocent passengers & crew in the highjacked planes, for the people at the Pentagon and wherever else this terror has struck. May God rest their souls and ease the pain of all the loved ones affected by these unspeakable acts of evil.

This is all so terrible. My husband is a big Tom Clancy fan and he says this is just like out of one of his books!
One report said that over 50,000 people worked in the trade center or in the immediate area. They expect that many casualties and you know many fatalities will result.
Nitra is traveling this week, say an extra prayer for her too.
As for Bush, I know they will have a full fighter escort for Air Force One. It is unlikely that he will actually return to Washington. They have a secret base to escort him and Congress to to protect them in times like this.
My boss's sis is in the National Guard in Boston. She has not been able to get in touch with her, but I am sure she will be activated for cleanup- if not for worse.

I heard from someone on an email group that the London Tunnel was bombed... has anyone heard this? (I don't have a tv here at work.) However, I AM planning on maybe "working from home" the rest of the day.
The terrorists hit even when Clinton was president, so it is not Bush. Newt said this should be looked at as an "act of war". I am sure it is some faction from the Middle East. Is there any signifcance to the date...9-11?? We are praying for all the families. Mu husband's relief was supposed to fly to Duch Harbor from Seattle today and hubby was supposed to fly home tomorrow, looks like that won't be happening!!
