    Hey Sparkle-n-Texas....

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I will keep you in my prayers, I have been praying for this whole situation ever since it started. Having some people's names makes it a bit easier to pray for someone specific.

Take care and know we are out here for you whenever you need us

I understand how worried you are. I was your age, actually a little younger during the Gulf War and I had a couple of friends who were called up during college (they were reservists). The hardest thing was watching what was happening on the television and knowing that your friends were there.

I have a cousin in the Navy stationed in Japan and my DH's best friend is in the Army JAG stationed in Germany. My dad was a career military officer beginning in the mid-'60s and he was very lucky that he didn't have to serve in Vietnam. Everytime his speciality (hazardous cargo) came up someone single volunteered knowing that he was married with an infant (me). While we were stationed in New Orleans he would be gone with a phone call and he even volunteered to go to Saudi Arabia after the Gulf War to clean up.

I'm sure he knows how worried you are about him, but be supportive and let him know how proud you are of him.

Where are you stationed? Are there any support groups on base for the spouses?

    Keep us posted.

    Sparkle-N-Texas...

I was glad to see this thread didn't disappear, just got moved, because I have been keeping you and your hubby in my prayers, and I have been wondering if you have heard from him,...what's the latest word?
I was wondering if you felt like sharing more about what he does... I understand if you don't want to do that.

I sure wish you had a website so I could see if you had an "email me" button

Hey, I have one... (a website... if you go to my profile )

Sparkle I can totally relate to you.. My hubby is in military. I am 24yrs old and we are pretty newly married and I love him with all my heart. I have been pretty on edge with all this war breaking out to. Hubby just got back from California was at NTC. He left just a couple days after all that happened in NY, and the whole time he was gone I was just so lonely and worried, it didn't get to help that I didn't get to talk to him for 2 weeks of the time he was gone cause he was in desert (field) doing training. I am very proud of him cause he wants to serve his country and while he was in those 2 weeks of intensive training he won "Hero of The Battle" award. I was very proud of him. I just don't know what I would do if I lost him. Just letting you know that I can relate.

I definately know how you feel. I married my husband young too. He was in the marines during desert storm. He was gone for 8 months, and I was so worried all of the time. My baby(who's 11 now) was only 3 months old, and I was only 17. It was the longest 8 months of my life. You just have to have faith, and let him know how proud you are of him. They really need to hear that. I'll be praying for him.
