You know guys..I dont think I have ever been so happy to sing that song or say that pledge. i remember being in grammar school, rolling my eyes every morning we'd say the pledge..never did I think that years later I would cry while saying it...it's amazing..now i know how my grandparents felt when the attack on pearl harbor happened..to see people over sea's burning our flag...ugh..it made me so mad, because after what the hell they did, not one american burned one of their damn flag. you know what i'm saying. For some reason, yesterday I decided to say the pledge..well, as I was sitting down..I realized that I had almost forgot it, but when I stood up and placed my hand over my heart, it all came back, just like yesterday. needless to say, I feel at peace. thought I'd share that w/ the group

That was a great post! Thank you. You are right, I used to hate saying the Pledge as a child and now it has so much meaning that it brings tears to my eyes.

Did anyone hear about or get to see on British tv, what the Queen had done this morning at the change of guards at the palace? They played the UNITED STATES ANTHEM!!!

Instead of God Save the Queen (the British Anthem)

Did they really??? Thats GREAT!! It feels so good to know other countries have smpathy for us - no matter what the political feelings are.

Yep, they REALLY did!!

I didn't get to see it, of course, but I have some VERY good close friends that live in England, and I have talked with several of them today... all said the same thing, and told me how much the British are supporting us in this awful mess.

i realize now more then ever what those words mean to me. i realize how valuable this country is and the values that it has..for once in my life, I feel like we are all 1. americans, thats it..nothing else. you know. i mean, it doesnt matter if you a latin king, crypt, blood, kkk, or anything...cause 1 thing everyone has in common is that we all live here and all want our freedom...

the words bring tears to my eyes....never had i imagined something so horrific would happen in the us...never....
