From what I understand Phentermine can raise your blood pressure--is this correct?

I am assuming it effects everyone differently---but how much is too much blood pressure wise?

And will your bloode pressure go back down once you quit phentermine?

I am curious because I took my blood pressure today and it was higher than usual.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! =)

Phen does raise your blood pressure. As to your question regarding how much is too much - you should see your doctor and let him check to see if you b/p's too high.

Hope this helps.

Melissa, I can tell mine is up too. I get randomly flush faced here and there throughout the day.

I just started going to the Y on Sunday, and was startled as to how high my heart rate is. Last year, when I was going to the gym a lot, I'm do the elliptical and it would be in the 140-155 range. Now it was about 170, so I kept slowing down.

I'm nervous about it, to tell you the truth. I should go to the doctor and fess up that I went on phen, and see what she says and how my bp really is. But I'm loving the control phen gives me and I don't want to go off it yet. I know that sounds F'd up, and I'm taking a gamble with my health. hmm.

Yeah I know it makes me a little nervous too.
I am going to keep an eye on my blood pressure and I have decided to quit taking Phen at the end of Febuary. I dont think you are suppose to be on it for long. It has been about 3 months for me. The phen does increase your blood pressure but I think it is only temporary.
Mine was pretty high when I took I dont think I did it right. I later read I should have sat down a few minutes and relaxed before taking the reading and also I had a sweat shirt on as well as a lot of coffee that morning and of course the phen all these things contribute to increase in BP.
Take your BP and find out where you are.

=)

Mine was raised some of the days I would take it, but as long as it is in the normal range. Under 120 and under 80 for the bottom number.

Hey guys...Regarding the blood pressure, mine is super low, even on the phen...

Actually, I am addicted to it...I've been taking 1/2 pill for a long time now, basically for the energy. I know I'm abusing it and really need to quit it, but that boost to help me get through the day is awesome...Actually had my physical yesterday and told my dr I was addicted, and she confirmed I need to stop it.
I took a 1/2 a few hours before my physical and my bp was 90-something over 60-something. I also smoke and drink lots of coffee. My thing is, omg, what would my bp be if I did not take all that??
The dr doesnt seem concerned about my low bp, its better than it being too high, but I wonder if the low blood pressure is the reason I feel sluggish all the time...
Anyway, I'm just going to copy and paste this under a new topic so maybe I can get opinions from other people too...

My blood pressure was high too. 150/80

My dr gave me a water pill to take every 3 days. He said it would help out. Over time, my BP came down, close to normal. There are some days it is high. I bought a machine for the house from Walgreens ~ nothing too expensive~ so I could monitor it myself.

Melissa either people aren't answering because alot of them don't know the answer (I know I have no idea) or because this topic has been addressed several times already. I don't really know either way, but you should check the archives and put in "blood pressure" to do a search.

Also, you can google those terms and I'm sure you'll get the answers you're looking for. Googling them even brings you to old posts on this website. I notice that 90% of the questions people have on here can be answered in the archives. Hope this helps you. Other than that, you can call some weight loss clinics that prescribe it and ask them over the phone or call a pharmacist. I'm sure they will tell you right away.

Melissa, sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. I work 6-3 and go to school from 430-9. When I get home, being on my laptop is the least thing I want to do.

I take a Diuretic called Triam hctz, given to me by my weight loss dr. I'm not sure where to get it over the counter.
