Nerve Damage/Numb Feeling?

Just wondering if anyone has suffered any nerve damage or numb type feelings in their limbs? I started phen 3 weeks ago and noticed my right arm feeling kind of numb at times, then I noticed it happening to my legs, but it always goes away. It's not a totally numb feeling, it feels like I'm only feeling say 60% of what I would normally feel in a limb. It's a very odd sensation. It isn't a needles and pins sensation, which seems to me would actually kind of hurt, it's entirely a numbing sensation.

I didn't have any side effects. I think I would call the doctor to be on the safe side. Better safe than sorry.

Not to scare, too badly... This is only a guess, but I would call the doc. Numbness on the left is traditionally a heart attack. Numbness on the right tends to be a stroke. Of course it might be something else, but still worth the co-pay over a ride in the back of a limo-staion wagon.

oh my gosh! did the doctor say how phen caused that? i had a sort spell w/ numbness a month or so ago but it went away. i hope things change for you. my husband is from missouri. we live in tenn. tho. anyways best wishes.

wow gurls me to my right side like my arm and hand plus my legs and toes get numb sum time plus i get a tingling feeling aswell. I use to take phen back in 04 and it made me have heart palpations so i stopped but my weight got outta hand so i prayed about it this time that nothing will happen, maybe god giving me a sign to leave it alone what more do i need b4 its too late. we take risky chances to loose weight. we dnt want nothing bad to happen to us but at the same time were study taking chances because of our sizes. good luck, everone and be safe, listen to your bodies.

hey am so glad to hear from u, So everthing is ok, sorry it took me so long,my daughter been sick. she had a biopsy friday of her knee, i have stop taking phen for a while kinda got scared of it.

Hey tazgirl, Im wondering when did you first feel the cold/numbing feeling. How long had you been on phen and how long did you take it after you feld that way?? Have you been to the specialist yet??

Well, all day yesterday I had a tingling feeling in both of my feet and at points it would radiate up my calf. Today is the same thing. It is on and off and the worst when Im sitting down. It's like they are asleep but not the hurtful pins and needle type, a lot less severe. My doc isn't in today so I'll have to wait to talk to him on Monday. I think I'm going to stop taking the pills, at least until I can get in and see my doctor.
UGH!! I really don't want to stop because they have helped me so much but I don't want to take the chance!!

Stay strong and do the best you can. I hope whatever it is that you have caught it in time and there will be some relief for you. Try right now to concentrate on one day at a time that way it's not so overwhelming.

Hey Taz, I read the other thread am glad to hear that you got some type of feeling back. I being praying for you, So hows everthing else coming along. god is good keep up the faith. I have good news also My daughter biospy came back beign But she still have to have surgery to remove the whole Mass. So make sure you keep in touch with me and i will contunie to pray for you and your family.

hey tazgirl. im doing fine. i quit taking phen for about a week and today i started again, no side effects so far( keeping my fingers crossed) i didn't get in to see the doctor. the day i quit taking phen, the sensation went away. so i figure i'll give it another shot and if it happens again i'll probally quit phen all together. how are you doing? i read that you have some feeling back in your legs. thats awesome!! any more news from your docs??

I took phentermine for 3 months and about a month into it, the numbness started. I would wake up with my right arm feeling numb and it would go away once I got up and got going. I thought it was because of all the work we had been doing around the yard and the finishing of our basement. Then it later started a little in my back and it is definately a side effect of the medicine. I am not sure why the numbness can occur, but in some of my readings the medicine effects your central nervous system. 2 of my neighbors are on the meds and have been on for a year and only one of them has had this problem. I have been off of the meds for a month now and the numbness has subsided. My appetite increased significately so I decided to come off. You just have to continue to watch your caloric intake (mine is around 1300-1400 a day) along with at least 30 min of daily exercise to maintain goal weight. LIFESTYLE CHANGE with anything you do in the weight loss world!!! Good luck and it does work.
