Question
My wife has been taking phentermine for the past couple months and been eating a very low calorie diet and has lost about 30lbs. She now weighs about 125 or maybe even less than that. She has the common side effects of the med. Dry mouth, tachycardia(fast heart rate), irritable, and frequent mood swings.

I have been with her for 18 years. We are both 34. Her behaivor has changed so much in the past couple months. She seems very depressed all the time. She won't admit it but I can tell she is. She has always been a very happy and fun person. It's like she has lost control of her emotions. I've tried to talk with her and bring her some information about the side effects, but she don't want to hear it. All she says is that if she stops taking the pills she's afraid she will gain her weight back.

Anyway, has anyone else been confronted with severe mood changes like this with themselves or other friends/family taking phentermine?

Thanks for all your help,

Brad
Thank you,
Brad

Wow Brad, it's great that you are concerned. Because phen does cause mood changes. Did she get the phen online or from your doc? Maybe talk to the doc about this, as it could get serious.

My sil was fired from her job cuz the phen was making her cranky and she was being rude with the patients, and who wants a crabby nurse?

Anyhow, maybe talk to other family members too, maybe do a mini intervention or at the very least, let her know some of the things that are happening to make you feel this way.

She can't take the phen forever, so she should have good eating habits down by now.

Good luck and God Speed Brad. Pray it will work out for you and wifey. 18 years is a long time, and it sounds like you have a happy, beautiful relationship.

Missus thank you for your reply. When she first started taking phen I knew that it would make her irritable and I was ok with that because I've know it's something she wanted to do. So I supported her and sometimes just kept my mouth shut. Now I just feel like she has so much anger towards me. Maybe she is directing her anger towards me in a way to cope with other day to day activites like work and friends??
Thank you,
Brad
