Synthroid and Phen, 1st day..Anyone else?

I have just started phen today 9/9 i am on 37.5 but i cut it in half cuz i wasnt sure how i would react...I am on 75mg of synthroid cuz i have a slow thyroid so i have had problems with weight ..I so have a lot of dry mouth right now and i feel a little jittery but thats about it right now...I was just wondering if anyone else are on the two of these or ever has...I am new to this sight.....

Please keep me posted how u do with it.I am on 100mg of synthoid & when I take phen it seems I gain more weight...I would like to go back on it but I wanna know how it works for others.

I've been taking synthroid now for 12 years and just started phentermine...so far there doesn't seem to be any contraindications with the hormone replacements, however will know more after my next endo appointment. I have very dry mouth as well, but since I also have other problems that cause that I'm not sure where to point the finger.

I am on 75 mcg synthroid with no effects. Are you sure you're not mcg instead of mg? That's a lot of mg, but everyone is different.

Several users here are on thyroid meds with zero problems interaction-wise. All good. The dry mouth and jitters will go away soon enough.

I am on 175mg of synthroid for past 20 years ( I'm 27) and I started at 7 years old. I am hypothyroid. I have been on phen for 2 months now. So far no complications. I'm on highest dose of phen.

I am on 88mg synthroid should be on 125mg anyway i felt very anxious and started taking my synthroid in the night instead, 1st night though seems to be ok so far

hi Im a newbie,just started phen last thurs.I am also on synthroid 125 mg.and the first day or 2 after taking phen I felt great,but now feel tired,very grouchy and confused,very irritable,also dry mouth and headaches,I want to continue taking it because I dont want to have to resort back to ephedera.I lost 70 lbs on ephedera in the past but have put back on about 30 any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi there, I have been on phen for almost three weeks and have had an awful thickness in my throat/extremely dry mouth (hard to swallow, like a lump in my throat). I am on day 5 of synthroid, just found out I have an underactive thyroid. The above symptom occurred immediately after taking phen, but seems to get worse. Mentioned to dr. and he examined my throat but does not appear to see anything wrong; my inner gut says to stop phen because of my discomfort - any suggestions from you all?

I have been taking Synthroid for about 3 years now and I am on the highest dose of 137 mcg. I started Phen yesterday because I have been unable to lose these stubborn 40 to 60 lbs. Most I can lose is 12 to 16 and then it comes right back. Within 30 minutes of taking 37.5 Phen I was very jittery and had chills. Then the thirst kicked in and I just kept drinking water all day and night. I thought it gave me a headache but I do have a cold coming on and a sore throat but that started Monday before I started Phen.

Anyways - i have no idea if Phen affects the Synthroid but I have a check up in One month and I guess we will see then. I will keep posting my side-effects etc.

I am excited and nervous to be taking Phen. I have avoided any diet pill and now I have finally given in because with hypothyroidism its nearly impossible to lose weight.

I have taken phen and 112mcg.levothyroxine for hypothyroid for about 8 months. I asked my endo about the combo, he said there was no problem. As for the drymouth. That's the only time I drink the amount of water I should. Good luck!

I am on 100mcg of levoxyl every day, taking 2 pills on Thursday. so im not sure what that equals exactly. I just started Phen. 37.5 dose. I dont like the insomnia it has caused. in fact im concerned. i need to rest. I dont sleep 1 full hour at night. And the upset stomach is concerning too. im extremely gasy. But i have no appetite - so im not gasy from eating! The NO appetite has been great though! I sure hope the side effects severly lesson.
and I SO understand the tremendous difficulty of losing weight with hypothroydism. no matter what i do, i gain. and the Dr increases my med. i just dont understand why this disease can not be tamed. Just becasue you are 'between numbers' on a blood test - in no way means your metabolism is working properly. in fact, it NOT working properly if u r gaining weight all the time WITH the meds.

Im hopeful Phen will work for me. As long as i can live with the side effects.

I'm also on 137 of levoxil (generic synthoid) and on 37.5 phen once a day. I've been on it once in the past about 5 years ago (prescribed by my endocronolist doc) and did very well. No side effects at all. Of course, I stopped taking it and gained all the weight back over the last couple of years so last month, I decided this was it and ordered some from phen the net. I've been on it 3 weeks and lost 11 lbs. so far. I feel no side effects except dry mouth. I don't even feel all the energy everyone else feels or jittery, just a decreased appitite. But then again I really haven't had an excess energy since I had my thyroid removed via surgery 5 years ago. Hope it helps.

i take synthroid 0.05mg been on it a year now my doc just gave me adipex 37.5-p on the 26 of june i took my first one the 27th have'nt had any side affets yet i take my phen in the morning and my throid med at night before bed

I used to take synthroid but now I'm taking levothyroxine. One thing I'm wondering is if maybe the phen is working slower because of the levothyroxine...?

I am hypothyroid and have been taking 100 mcg synthroid for years. I go to a weight loss clinic for my phentermine. The doctor at the clinic is aware of my hypothyroidism and the synthroid I am taking for it. She has assured me that there are no contraindications with the two medications.

The discomfort in your throat is likely to be due to your hyperthyroidism not phentermine. An enlarged thyroid gland is a symptom of hyperthyroidism your thyroid gland is located in your throat. Since your diagnosis of thyroid disease is fairly new check with your doctor or online for a list of symptoms regarding your type of thyroid disease.

I take .137 mcg of Synthroid (for about 6 years) also along with Phen and have not noticed any problems so far, so glad to finally see the scale move in the right direction since the low thyroid makes it about impossible to lose weight!

Wow i dont no what to say or think about mixing these two togather....cause i am also on synthyroid and just started phen....but my docter said NOWAY i can take them both so i had to get off my thyroid meds....also the pharmacy said NOWAY...said its sooo bad for u and dangerous...so Uall can look into this cause its not good for u.....so if ur hving a weird effect let ur docter no right away....this is the reason my docter told me NO! he said ur thyroid med is to speed up ur heart rate and metabolism and phen is used for the same reason and does same thing....so if ur taking both this is gonna speed up ur heart rate alot! and is not good for u......could cause u to have a heart attack or other bad effects....so just be careful when taking both.....read the sheet that comes with ur medicine it will even tell u there no to mix them togather.....GOOD LUCK TO U ALL...

I am on 100MCG synthroid and the Phen. My Dr. said it was totally safe or he would not prescribe both. I have had no side effects other than the dry mouth and I chew gum for that. I do feel more energetic but not jittery, as a matter of fact I told my Dr. that I feel calmer, can focus better, and my night sweats and hot flashes have all but gone away! I do however, have this sudden obsession for clean. I don't have and never have had a dirty house, it is lived in but not dirty. I now have to scrub my kitchen down daily as well as wiping the bathrooms down daily and scrubbing them once a week. I caught myself running in to wipe down the toilet every time my husband or son used it! I stopped that though. The dusting and vacuuming aren't bad, I don't worry about that. Just the kitchen and bathrooms! I guess that isn't a negative though, since my main complaint to my son is that his bathroom is never kept anywhere near clean.

I take 75 mcg of synthroid...I started it a week after I started the phen. I was worried at first because I searched the net and found that people had gained weight with synthroid. Mr doctor assured me that was not going to happen. It has been one month and I have lost 26 pounds with no complications with the combo. I don't know if I would take it at night though. My dr said to take it right when I wake up and to wait an hour or 2 before eating breakfast if it has some sort of calcium in it. Otherwise I could eat right away, but I eat yogurt everyday for breakfast so I have to wait. She recommended I wait another hour to take the phen....but I get up very early so that time frame may not work for you.
I was worried I would lose weight slower because of the thyroid issue, but I seem to be losing weight at the same pace as people with a normal thyroid, so I'm not going to stress about it.

My doc and pharm said I could take both, not sure if the fact that I take Armour makes a difference? I won't take the synthroid as it can cause kidney damage, I was on it for 3 months and had one kidney infection after another, I then switched to the natural Armour and what a difference. Not only did I feel better and have more energy but no more kidney trouble, not to mention that Armour is way cheaper than the other non-natural brands. I did not lose any weight on either of the Thyroid drugs, but have lost weight since starting Phen. I was suppose to have increased my Phen dose this week, but haven't due to jaw pain and headaches. I am drinking as much water as I can stand!!!
