Wondering if anyone can tell me about any side effects they've experienced while taking these two drugs...Whenever I get in a depression, my weight seems to jump 20 lbs. I've been on Prozac since the January, feel much better, have joined a gym, and just want to jump start the weight loss with the Phentermine...I've used it in the past successfully (a few palpitations that checked out ok) but I am not ready to get off my Prozac. My DR called me in a refill for the Phen, the pharmacist filled it, then called me later in the day to discuss some new studies going on between the two drugs...I would like to take them both, but the Prozac is much more important...Can anyone tell me if they know anything?

Hi Christine! I am going to be starting my Phen this week, if my Doc prescribes it. If not I'll be ordering it on line. I've been on it about 10 years ago, did great. Anyways, I am on Wellbutrin XL myself, for depression. I don't know if I can mention the Doc's name, so I'll leave it out, but I have been emailing the last 2 days with a well know author and Doctor on the Phen-Pro. He's done much research and studies about it and has a book out on it. It seems that Phen-Pro is the new "diet cocktail" right now. I am going to have my Doc change my Wellbutrin to Prozac. I've never taken Prozac, so I hope it works ok for me. I've done so much reading and reading on line over the last 2 weeks on Phen and now this Phen-Pro, my head hurts, but I feel very at ease taking both together. Hope this helps. Oh, also, the article I read mentioned that a lower dose of Prozac like 10, no more than 20 is recommended, because a high dose of Prozac can work against the Phentermine, so you wouldn't see good results. Good Luck!

The only thing is he wants me to be on the wellbutrin for about 2 weeks before i start the the phen, just to get my system used to it. Anyone else on both of these??

I have taken Prozac for about 10 years now and its been great for me, BUT when I wanted to give phen a go my doc did some research and said I cant be on both. Apparently its not good for your heart so i made the decision to wean off the prozac. Im happy to give it a go without taking it. so far so good.
