Irregular Cycles?????

So I would say I am a pretty regular gal. I am on the BC pill and always start the thursday after my last active pill.

I started Phen I week ago and today started spotting which is almost 2 weeks early for my cycle. I still have one whole week of active pills left to take. I NEVER miss a pill for fear of getting pregnant.

Has anyone else experienced irregular cycles when starting phen or having any good explanation why? Possibly such a huge change in diet?

yes phen messes with your cycle... so its normal

I take continuous pills to keep me from having a cycle as recommended by my doctor. With that said, I normally don't have a cycle but about 5 or 6 days after starting the Phen I started having one. I wasn't sure if it was the medicine or not, guess so.

I've only been on Phen 2 weeks and I got mine early too. I've been on bc for a while now and have been over the initial spotting when you first start a new brand for some time now. This week, with another week of pills to go, I got mine. Crazy. Do you think it effects the strength of the pill so we have break-through bleeding or does the bc still work properly? I'm aware that with some medications, the bc isn't as strong so a back-up method is required...is that the case here??? I'm not wanting another little one anytime soon! LOL.

I *thought* I might have been in menapause as I had not had a period in about about 3 months when I started taking the Phen. But within about 2-3 weeks of the medication, I had a period. I don't know if the 2 are related, but I'm suspicious. (I keep telling my doctor I'm going to be the only resident in the nursing home that they are going to have change my diaper AND my sanitary pad at the same time!!)

Yep, It messes it ALL up. I use to start on the 17th clock work. When I started Phen the first month my cycle came on the 19th, the second month the 23rd and now the 25th. It also use to last 7 days now it only lasts 3-4 days. I'm not complaining about the part though. Don't worry it's normal

Yeah, I used to get mine on the 3rd of every month, but it's slowly been moving up to like every 23-25 days instead of every 28. It also used to last 6-7 days, but now it only lasts 3-4 days, not that I'm complaining or anything.

I"m so glad to know this. I haven't had my period in about 2 months, I'm not pregnant or on birth control. I was thinking about stop taking phentermine. But I will stay on it for one more month to see if my period will "kick in".

Have any of you ever had anything else weird with your period since starting on phen? Now, I have PMS all month long. I feel great during the 3 days of my period. (It used to last 7 days, but now it is just 3 days.) I have cramps ALL month now. I have also only been losing weight during my TOM. I lose all my weight for the month then, up to 8-10 lbs. The day my period stops so does my weight loss for the month. Is this normal? This is the first time in my life that I look forward to my period.

is anyone else on Implanon BC? I have had the implant since June 2007 and have only had about 8-10 periods! I usually got 3 or 4 months without one! When I do have one is usually only last 5days max and is generally a light period! I have been on phen now since Nov. 6th. I started my period on Dec 12 and it lasted 8days, and then on Dec 23rd I started again and it was heavier than the last one!! today is the 28th and I am still on it!! Anyone else dealing with this same problem and can give me some insight on it????

During my first month on phen, my period was TERRIBLE! The first day of my cycle I took phen, but that night I had the worst cramps of my life! For about 2 hours straight I was crying and sitting in the fetal position rubbing my stomach. I felt like throwing up a few times and I had to walk back and forth across the room. I couldn't sleep because it was so bad. I considered calling 911, but I hate hospitals and figured they would just tell me to take Advil. I took 2 Advil that night, but it was not helping. Now I don't take phen during my cycle. My doctor said that was fine, but I just have to be focused on my diet and exercise. So far I've had no problems with my cycle except for the fact that I never truly know when I will start. Hope this helped!

I started takin phen on 1/7/09 and had just got off The TOM on 1/3/09 well on 1/11/09 I started my TOM again and went up until 1/30/09 and was really concerned the fisrt couple weeks and so I called my doc and she said that it had to do with the dramatic change in my diet and my hormones and estrogen levels trying to get leveled out. I sure hope she is right. I am on bc and always just go for 3-4 days. I was about to go crazy with this, all the cramping and I was bleeding really heavy which is not normal for me. I am just hoping my system is going to be back on track cause I just dont think I can do this all the time. It would be bad to go broke my pads..lol...So yes I have definitely experienced this since starting the med. I have always had normal periods my whole life and have only missed two and that was the 2 times I was preg... Good luck to you all with this.

My friend and I started using Phentermine about 4 days ago, she was on her cycle when she started and she said her cycle last 6 days max and she is on day 10 of her period, I said it was mabey the phentermine now I know it is because I started spotting and have been for three days now, it sarted with my third day of phentermine. I just had my cycle 2 weeks ago.

I was wondering does anyone get a warm sensationon the palm of your hand, I do?

I have only been on it a week and a half
but got my cycle 2 days after I started
which was when I was suppose to get it
I am using nuvaring so not sure since its not the pill

I'm happy with the Phen as it has helped me to lose weight that I know would have been otherwise very difficult for me to lose because of my PCOS. However, of the 63 days I've been on Phen there have only be 21 days that I have not been either bleeding or spotting.
I spoke to my PCP about this and the suggestion of bcp was made; however, I do not tolerate bcp very well. So, I'm actually quite frustrated with this side-effect of Phen.
Does anyone know if there are natural/herbal methods of controlling your menstural cycle?

Ok so here's my story... I am due around the 8th of the month, in Jan I thought I was a little late. so before I went to the doctor to start on phen I took a test. It was negative(that was on the 15th).I started taking phen on the 16th of Jan. and still have not had a tom since then. I have taken a couple of test since the 15th all negative. I am starting to worry though cause its now 2/9 and nothings coming. I feel no signs of it.. Has anyone else gone through this? I think I may need to call my doctor? I am wondering if the phen has something in it to make the test negative or if I should not worry?

I have also noticed my period is now different. It starts off with just spotting for about a week then I have my "normal" period. Also, I have noticed if I get a hang nail or cut myself that I bleed quite a bit more than normal...??

I have, My cycle was delayed 4 weeks after my first month on phen. I was worried because I was always regular too. I got concerned and called my gynocologist. She sayed something about fat stores estrogen. When weight is loss it releases more estrogen and causes changes to the body. I'm not for sure if I'm wording it right, but she did reassure me that I was okay that and it was possible.
