Heartburn from Phen?

I've noticed that for the past week, I've been having heartburn. I never get heartburn. I was wondering if this is a side effect from this medication, or just a coincidence? I havent changed my eating habits, I've always ate relatively healthy. I just get this feeling in my throat that something is there, and when I burp it burns. It's very annoying, and hope that it goes away.

That is so funny, I have been having the same thing for the past two days. From what I remember from being on the meds in the past, I had it then too. Tums usually helps me, plus they have calcium

I've had just the opposite happen to me since starting Phen. Before, I was having to take Prilosec OTC daily to keep from having heartburn, but I haven't taken a single one since starting Phen last week and surprisingly I haven't had a single episode of heartburn. I think a lot of it had to do with what I was eating and drinking. I've totally cut out my Diet Cokes and limited my coffee to one cup occasionally. I've also not had any chocolate, so, the caffiene's pretty much out of my diet now. Are you eating more spicy or acidic foods?

No, I dont drink soda, coffee, or eat chocolate or spicy or acidic foods. I don't eat anything now that I normally hadnt before.

I get it some days too.. I thought is was the Crystal light I was drinking. But some days I don't have it. Weird!

I had this reaction the first couple days I was on it... but then I took Gaviscon with some water and it went right away.

I have taken Phen twice. This is the second round, once a year ago--- I lost 48 pounds--- but i had to come off because of a SEVERE case of GERD..(heartburn) but mine was not just a heartburn..It refluxed all the way into my lungs and sinus cavity and caused severe burning and ear pain. called LPRD Also it gave me trouble with my throat when I tried to swallow, like the muscles didn't want to contract. I am trying phen again and as of today after 1 week this is starting again.Mylanta ultimate helps and I take nexium now so it is not as bad as before...yet....
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, were you able to continue Phen or could your doctor give areason why this was happening?Or something to counter act it?
