Default Will the light-headedness go away?`
I'm on day 3 of Phen and I've felt like I'm in a fog most of the day today. I am a nurse and am at work tonight, so I checked my vital signs. My blood pressure was elevated and so was my heart rate. I don't want to feel like this everyday. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how long will it last?

Hi Nursy!

I am at work too! I am in labor and delivery. Ok, so....did you rest a minute before you to your bp? The phentermine might make your pulse higher cause it is speeding up your metabolism. When you say a fog, or dizziness, do you mean you are out of it, or feel like you are "buzzing" around (like hyper)? Maybe your dose is too high. When did you first take it yesterday? Alot of people on this site take a half of 37.5 initially and then the other half later. I take one and later take another half of one, but I've been on it before.

Rest in a chair for about 10-15 minutes and let someone else take your pressure. Let me know.

I started taking it on 2/27/08. When I say I felt like I was in a fog, I mean I felt groggy and out of it. Almost like feeling drunk in a way. The first time I checked my blood pressure, I had just walked up the hallway, so it was really elevated, so I sat for a few minutes and rechecked it. It was 134/88 and my resting heart rate was 108. My normals are around 120/65 and 80. I did eat the rest of a salad from yesterday and some nonfat yogurt and felt a little better. I still have a little "woozy" feeling in my head, but I think most of it is from not getting my nap in yesterday before work. I'll have to see how I feel at work tonight.

Nursy,
I know exactly what you are feeling. For the past 2 days I've woken up from my sleep to feel my heart pounding. I started on 2/26/08, so This is day 5 for me, and today I decided to just take half of the pill, but I still feel my heart beating hard. I don't like these feelings either, but I've been told that they will go away, I just hope that its true. I also have Mitral Valve Prolapse, and even tho my PCP told me that it was ok to take Phen, I still don't like the side effects, and I still dont think that I should be on this pill. I also had the "foggy" feeling at work yesterday along with the shakes, it's light-headedness, and almost dizzy. All I can tell you is what I've been told, is to drink a lot of water, and make sure that you eat. Because the pill suppresses your appetite. I don't crave anything, and some foods just taste nasty now. But I know that I have to eat. Good Luck! Keep me posted how it goes in the days to come. Jenn

I also woke up this morning with my heart racing... (though I took wellbutin last night and not sure if it was from that)... I haven't been feeling in a fog though,,, but I took the Well today with a meal and hopefully that is it... It can definatley by a scary feeling!! Though I'm sure the next of 200 calories a day isn't helping (I eat about 650 calories and workoff about 450 of them) but whenever I start to feel funny,,, I eat as well as the 4 -5 meals a day.

Dashshund... Any tips on how to get my 15yr old daughters dog potty trained. It seems to constantly find MY STUFF... I can't take much more of this!!

Well, after working all night last night, I went home and drank some water before bed, but didn't eat anything. I woke up this afternoon and figured I'd better try and eat something. I was standing in the kitchen and suddenly became extremely light-headed like I was about to pass out. I made it to the recliner and sat there for a few minutes and I became hot and then my skin got clammy. I think maybe my blood sugar had dropped since my body is so used to eating a lot and I was a junk food addict. Now that I'm not eating as much and have cut out the sugar and snacks, I can feel the difference. I've been making myself eat something every 2 to 3 hours while at work tonight. It's funny how the cravings have dissappeared. Someone left a huge basket of Easter chocolates at our nurse's station tonight and normally I would be sitting here eating one after the other, but tonight, I haven't even had the desire for one. Yay me!! As long as I can get past these dizzy feelings, I think I'll be alright.

Ok, I've been incorporating more proteins into my diet and I do feel better. I think I just had to adjust to my decreased appetite. I did notice last night, however, that I felt hungrier and more often. Is that normal? I still made wise choices with what I ate, but I didn't fill up like I had been the previous days. Hey, but at least I still avoided the Easter chocolates sitting at the nurse's station.

I hate avoiding chocolate... If the peanut butter cups make it into the house I'm toast... My lightheadedness has defintely gone away... I haven't felt my heart racing anymore either. I adjusted taking the phen about an hour after breakfast and the wellbutrin a little after lunch so that neither were on an empty stomach.
