I started taking phentermine last april, eventually working up to 30mg. a day. After about 4 months my weight loss basically just stopped and in december my doctor decided to take me off of it for a month and try something else to give my body a break. Unfortunately I didn't tolerate the new meds (bontril) so he switched me back to phentermine again this month. The first time I took I barely had side effects. But I just started it up 1 week ago and this time I feel horrible. I'm shaky, I have headaches all day long, i'm exhausted because my sleep is affected, and as of yesterday my chest started hurting. Its more in the middle of my chest and it just feels tight like when you have a really dry cough, except i'm not coughing and my breathing isn't affected. He put me right back on the 30mg pills instead of starting out gradually again so i'm wondering if this is why the side effects are so strong or if I should be worried about the chest pain?
I know it seems like I don't have a question here lol But i'm wondering if any of you have started it again after taking a break and experienced new side effects, and if so how long it took until they went away? It isn't even helping with my hunger so right now i'm not feeling too optimistic about it. I don't want to panic and run right back to my doctor after only 2 days of the chest discomfort, but I know it is listed as one of the more severe side effects so I don't want to let it go too long. Have any of you split the pills yourself to take a half a dose? Mine are the capsuls with the medicine inside so i'm aware that this won't be an exact measurement but maybe my body is just shocked at having such a high dose all at once. Any advice would be appreciated, and i'm sorry this turned into such a long post!! Thanks for taking the time to read it!
