The phen suppresses my thirst as well. Is that normal? I used to always have a drink in my hand (sweet tea mostly) so the doc kept checking for diabetes but since the phen, I only drink about 1 glass of tea every 4 days. I drink about 2 bottles of water a day. I know I need more but I am not thirsty! We attributed the thirst to my hypothyroidism, as well as the hunger I had, never feeling full.

I also have dry mouth really bad and it makes me feel like my mouth is nasty, like unclean and I constantly think my breath is bad because of it, anyone else experienced that?

OMG my mouth is always dry, you just have to drink plenty of water.it's one of the side efects of the phen dry mouth, you should drink water it does not matter if you are thirsty or not .I know its hard I am still working on the water thing myself. So drink up and good luck.
If you want to impress anyone, you must FIRST be impressed with yourself.

Just the opposite for me - the dry mouth encourages my thirst. In the last couple days, I've up my 64 oz to around 96.

And yes my mouth feels unclean too ... I think thats a normal side effect.

First let me say craftymomma I tried to answer your pm from a couple of weeks ago but it said you weren't accepting pm's. Just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you. As for the water thirsty or not you should be drinking half of your body weight in water. If you don't drink enough water your body will retain water.

Unhappy Dry Mouth
In response to dry mouth. Yes! I have been on phen. for little over 8 months now. I have learned to drink water. I was never a big drinker of anything. I start my day off with a bottle of water. This has just become routine. I have also found that I love the Crystal Light on the go packets. My favorite is the Hydrating Lightly Lemon. Flavoring your water may help you with your sweet tooth also. They have a Strawberry/Lemonade that is really good also. the packets are only 5 cal. each. Stay away from caffine if possible. Sodas do nothing for hydration. I work in a hospital and my job is to draw blood and start IV's. Many patients come in dehydrated. It is not how much you drink but what you drink that matters. Good Luck!
I hope my experience and how I solved this problem helps. Oh, also I have never chewed so much gum in my life. I aways have sugar-free Trident packs on hand.
Tina
