We recently found out that my wife has primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH). We feel that part of the blame for this is her taking Phen-Phen some time ago. We also discovered that she was over prescribed for phentermine, 37.5 mg four times daily. Is it possible that the over prescribed phentermine contributed to the PPH. If so where might I find info regarding such.

Holy Cow! 37.5 4x a day! That is WAY too much medication to prescribe! I'm no doctor but my doc wouldn't let me go over 37.5 once a day!!!!

I think your wife's issue is less in the phentermine and more in the fenfluramine. The fen part of the Phen-fen was the culprit - not the Phen (which has been used since 1959 without issue). Phentermine has not been shown to cause PPH in patients but Fenfluramine has.

The amount your wife took of the Phentermine is troubling. If I took that much phentermine you would have to peel me from the ceiling. I think the fault lies with her doctor. The extra medication certainly didn't help with her PPH.

By the way...I'm no doctor...but here is a helpful link from the FDA. http://www.fda.gov/cder/news/phen/fenphenqa2.htm

I certaintly understand and agree on the correlation between PPH and Fen-Phen. We are currently have an attorney exploring our options in this regard. I was wondering if there is info somewhere regarding the potential damage from over prescribing phentermine?

ad,

We are not allowed to post our email addresses here. We were allowed to before, but some people started to hunt and gather and then send out nasty or confusing emails so phentermine.com took away this option. If you email john@phentermine.com, I will also email him and ask if he will release my email address to you. If you want to email me, I will tell you where to find/look for any info regarding such.

P.S. Thanks to Danelady For reading posts in other forums besides the "My Experience With Phentermine."
