These are just a couple of the symptoms I experience with taking my ohen-any advice on how to eliminate any of these would be great! I hit a plateau a few weeks ago so I have not been taking them lately, but I am ready to get back on them now. I can deal with the not wanting sex (but my hubby is kinda upset about it lol) the headaches bother me-I am addicted to bc and I know that cant be good for me...I cant handle the tiredness, I have 3 children and lots of housework, and it cannot be ignored...although the tiredness is usually only when I am not taking them, It is like my body gets addicted to them and doesnt want to do nothing without em. My hair is also thinning out I am thinking I need vitamins. I also feel dry-dehrydrated. I have thought about looking into thyroid disease (I know this is off the subject-lol-but wanted to throw it in) Anyone know anything about this? I saw a poster in my kids Dr.'s office and it had symptoms like dry mouth-brittle nails-tiredness-droopy eyes-weight gain-and many other that matched me, but I do not have insuarance and the dr said the lab work is pretty pricey to find out if you have it. If anyone has any thought on any of this please post-Thanks so much.

drink lots of water, take a multi vitamin and a "B" vitamin, look up thyroid disease on the web and see what they say to do. Good luck and I hope all works out for you.

    Hi Starryeyed:

I have experienced all the things you mentioned. It's interesting about the
thinning hair.. I thought it was my imagination.

Does anyone know..when I'm off the Phen
will it fill back in? I hope so.. I notice
right along my part line at the top of
    my head... yikes!

The disinterest in SEX.. yes.. but
I was like that before the Phen.. mostly
maybe disinterest is a strong word.
Maybe it was just stressed out all the time
    from work.. kid...commute...house cleaning..
shopping... gee.. what excuse do I have.

Women are pushed beyond their limits..
The Phen has helped me have energy to get things done but once I'm coming down.. watch out.. crash city.

I had the headaches too.. it was last week
    5 days straight..each morning. I really
never decided if it was my sinuses..the
Phen.. lack of eating..? Maybe it was a combo but I had it. On the six day.. I decided to skip Phen for one day.. no headache.. now I'm on 30 mg. for a week so far.. no headaches yet.. but I wouldn't be surprised if I get one.. I'll be ready this time.

YES, YES,, sooo thirsty...I always drink
lots of water.. but one day I drank
    3 quarts.. I have a cracked lip right now..arrr.

Does that cover all your symptoms.

One suggestion if I may... about the SEX.. no it's not a position. I have serious back
problems anyway.. my hubby got an excellent
    hand-held massager.. from Homedics..
It has excellent vibration.. get something and have your hub massage your back and such to help you unwind.. before your expected
to participate... have him do your feet too.

For me the Phen had me sooo racy and wired..
I couldn't relax.. so even a good massage all over with oil will help.. you just need
to get your mind into it.

And if your anything like me and many woman
you need that to get interested.

It's just a suggestion that has really been
helping me.. because my husband is
48 with a sex drive of a 17 year old..
and when he doesn't get his lovin..
    he gets.... grumpy and difficult..
you'd think he was on Phen.

If you want more info on the massager post a note shortly and I'll be watching for it.

I'll give you all the specifics.

If weren't not allowed to share that kind
of info here in Phen Land..
here is my personal e-mail address:

    YADA2U************

    I hope I was helpful.

I'll be watching for your other msgs.
I go between here and the other site..
    see you around.

    YES.. take vitamins too!

I am so glad to hear others are going through the same things I am. I started taking phen last August and lost 21lbs. I fluctuate about 5 lbs up and down now. I still take it occasionally when I'm feeling fat and am starting to gain. My hair is so thin. Last time I took it, I eventually related it to the phen (at least hoped that's all it was) and stopped taking it. My hair stopped falling out.

I've now taken it again all this week, and there goes the hair. I won't be taking it anymore. It's not worth it, and I don't even think it's really working anyway.

Starry, we sound so much alike. I am a single mom with three kids...7,5,5. All boys. I'm moody, depressed sometimes, anxious feeling in my stomach, major hair loss especially my bang line and part (I don't think it's noticable to anyone else), slight weight gain but really more of a bloated feeling. Oh, and night sweats! My underarms have started to sweat and I've NEVER sweated in my life. I'm making little wet spots on my shirts. Today was the first day that it happened all day. I can't even believe it. I really feel like I'm deficiant in something. I know I need to change my eating habits. But, the thing that makes me think of a thyroid problem is I'm craving carbohydrates like crazy. Pasta and potatoes. Now that I realize it is my phen use that's causing my problems. My best friend is experiencing some of the same symptoms. It seems like the longer you take it, the worse it gets.

Sorry for the book, ladies...I feel better.

I KNOW WHAT YOUR GOING THRU ABOUT THE SEX THING, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME (IT'S SO FUNNY HOW MANY WOMEN SAY THAT) JUST TO FIND OUT WE'RE NOT ALONE AND THAT HELPS. I HAVEN'T BEEN INTO SEX TO MUCH EITHER LATELY. NOR WAS I BEFORE. I'VE BEEN ON PHEN FOR ABOUT A MONTH BUT BEFORE THAT I WAS ON EVERY WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM POSSIBLE AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE LOWERED MY SEX DRIVE. AND WHAT YOU SAY IS TRUE WOMEN HAVE 2 FULL TIME JOBS BETWEEN WORK AND HOME WHEN DO WE REALLY GET A CHANCE TO RELAX. WITH ALL THE STRESS AND NERVES I I PROBABLY COULD HAVE BECOME A NUN. AND TRYING SAYING NO TO A SICILIAN MAN(HA-HA).THAT'S LIKE THE EVIL WORD THAT DOESN'T EXIST IN THEIR DICTIONARY. AS FOR THE THINNING HAIR I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED IT YET AND I PRAY TO GOD I DON'T BECAUSE MY HAIR IS ALREADY THIN. I ALSO TAKE A MULTI EVERYDAY AND THAT SEEMS TO HELP. DRINK LOTS OF WATER, EXERCISE AND EAT HEALTHY. IT'S HELPED ME.

I'm an odd duck too. I didn't have much of a sex drive before but now want to all the time. Anyway, I just wanted to throw another thought out there. Since phen is a part of the amphetamine family of drugs it can increases the release of dopamine and norepinephrine. Since your body is working faster this stresses the body and causes an increase in the release of ACTH (adrenal gland steroid hormone. Over time the adrenal glands may become overworked. This can cause changes in pigmentation, sweating, headaches, increased pusle, dehydration, altered vitamin levels, and loss of body hair. Since they aren't sure what exactly the phen does (completely) this is my own little theory. But these are the symptoms someone can have if they lack adrenal hormones, and since stress causes their release and phen speeds up the body, I think it's worth mentioning. Just wanted to give a possible reason why stopping the phen can help and why long term these symptoms can happen with it. Or I may be a total fruitcake who doesn't have a clue. Good luck!

    Wink

I am really appreciative of all the postings and advice here. Just starting today and a little paranoid of potential side-effects and addiction.

As a side note, I am wondering if the Sex drive thing has more to do with the men's lack of attention etc than the drugs? Many of you have said that you were that way previous to the drug. I just know that for me to be "turned one" my guy has to be sweet and romantic early, not just a few minutes before he wants sex. I need to hear compliments, sweetness etc.

Anyway, off the subject of the board, I know. I can say that I am already drinking tons of water, taking a multi, B complex and Omega 3 vitamins, so I am hoping that some of these side-effects are strickly a lack of this nutrients. I guess I will let y'all know how it goes.

Friends- my headaches seem to be diectly related to my water intake. Check the amounts that you are driking. Another forum group has long posts on water intake etc.. They suggest 100 oz. or more per day and I have found this to be very true. If I don't drink tha much -I have a headache the next morn until I get H2O into my body.

Also exercise relieves stress. Might help.

    Red face

Headaches, low sex drive, no energy, ear sensitivity,I have experienced it all! I started taking Ephedra type pills when I was 19 and lost about 20 pounds I continued to take them off and on over the next 3 years when I felt I was starting to gain weight. After awhile they stopped working. I remembered my friend had taken Phen with great success so I started taking those (blue and yello) When I first stared taking them I was in heaven!! My mind felt clear, high energy, able to get tons done and the weight just stared falling off. I got down to about 135 after 3 months and then the side effects started. I thought I had a UTI and I started getting anxious and having headaches. I went to the doctor many times for various tests and was told I was fine. I stopped taking the phen and the symptoms went away. When I stopped taking the pills I lost all energy and could barly get out of bed. After a few months I started taking them again, and again after a few months the side effects slowly got so bad I had to stop taking them again. I took them off and on for about a year and a half. At that time it was very obvious to me that the pills were the root of my problems. I waited about six months to see if the sympoms would go away so I could start taking them again, they never went away completly! Now it has been about a year and a half since I have taken Phen. Unfortunatly, I feel that I have done permanat damage to my nervous system. I have panic attacks, get severe headaches almost daily, and have no energy. I used to love talking to people and now I just watn to be alone. The headeaches are the worst! Nothing helps, even perscription pain pills make me feel anxious andb weird. I have no sex drive and it has been a year and a half. I have spent soo much money at the doctor gettting blood tests, thyroid tests, MRIs, hormone tests and everything comes back fine. I am at the end of my rope and would love and help or advice that can be offered, as far as what to do or meds I can take. Additionally, I am posting this so that the people that are having some of these severe side effects stop taking the meds before it is too late. If I could only go back to the way I was before the meds I would gladly do so and be overweight. Now I am overweight again and can not even work or workout because I get such bad headacehes and get so anxious for no reason. It is like I am still on the meds, even thought it has been a year and a half. I do not have insurence since I had to quit my job. Please help or ask me any question I would like to make sure that nobody else has to go through this in their life.

I have had a severe migrain now for 2 weeks. Nothing seems to make it go away. I havent taken any phen since yesterday at 7 am and i still had a horrible headache today. one of my worst so far. I am going to the doctor tomorrow to rule out sinus but it seems that they started when i started phen. I am going to try to drink more water tomorrow and see if thet helps. Does anyone know if maybe i should take vitamins? i dont take any vitamins and follow a low carb diet with one serving of fruit at lunch. HELP?
