Question
I have been on Phentermine for about 2 weeks and have lost 6 pounds. I have dry mouth, my heart races a little bit but seems to subside after a few hours but I keep wondering if this drug is harmful to me? I do like having the extra energy but sometimes the racy feeling worries me. I do go to a Medical Weight Control Center and my blood pressure was slightly elevated last time I went but they didn't question it. I just want to be sure I'm doing the rt. thing.

Hi Eileen:

It concerns me that no one answered your post because I too am worried about what Phen might do to my heart. I am anemic and often have heart palpitations from that condition.

In one post, a woman mentioned very bad chest pain and another said she felt like she was going to black out. Stuff like that scares and concerns me. I'm going to start Phen tomorrow and the heart issue is my #1 concern.

Are you feeling better now, Eileen?

I've been on Pehn 2 mos/ I skip 2 days after every 7-10 days. I, too, have the dryness...and that "speedy" feeling...however, it doesn't get "out of control" or increase. I just drink alot of water, which is good any way. I have no history of heart or blood pressure problems. If you have medical concerns, then definitely consult a physician. I don't....but it's because I have no medical history that would make Phen especially dangerous for me.
