    Question

I took the phen-fen combination 3 years ago and noticed at the time that after about 3 to 4 months of taking it, my very thick hair was coming out daily. Then, phen-fen was pulled from the market. My hair thickened back up--(never had this problem before). Now, after 3 to 4 months of taking Phentermine, it's happening again! I'm losing tons of hair. It's all over my shirts--and when I wash my hair, it's all over my hands, and stopping up the tub. PLEASE HELP. I've stopped taking the Phentermine--and can't see that this is helping. I mentioned this to my doctor when I started taking the phentermine, and he told me to take Selenium as a daily vitamin to help. I did--but it has not helped. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have taken Fastin on and off for @ 6 months at a time. After about 4 months my hair starts falling out. After I stop, my hair grows again...What do you know @ phentermine vs Fastin--same family, but I wonder if it works the same. I have been on fastin for 7 months and have lost only 25 lbs. I want to loose 10 more but Fastin has quit being effective.

Hi!I been on phentermine for almost 3 years and when I first started about 4 months into it my hair started falling out by the gobs and my Doctor said it wasnt the drug that was causing it it was lack of protien in my diet which at the time only consisted of salads and fruit. So I picked up on the protien and my hair quit falling out.Now the problem I have is its not working like it did in the beginning.

Hair loss is something that I had to deal with after losing 34 lbs in 3 months on Phentermine. My Dr also had me on a high protein, no fat, low carb diet. When I first started noticing my hair loss, I was mortified. I went to a dermatologist and he recommended taking an amino acid supplement. I went to the store and bought the cheapest, but the supplement that had the most amino acids listed. I was taking 2-4 a day, and added a little fat back into my diet. After about 4-6 weeks, my hair started feeling thicker and I noticed it was no longer falling out. Hope this helps. I was told that the sudden weight loss created internal stress, which resulted in the sudden hair loss.
