Hi everyone!!

I need some advice pls. I started taking Phentermine February this year and I stopped at the beginning of May. During the time I took the tablet I lost 8kgs which was great.During that time I had a UTI which got treated, I suppose because of not drinking enough water. After stopping with Phen in May I have been having bladder problems since then. I feel ok only when I am on my feet but when I sit down I feel pain all the time and I feel like wanting to pee quite often. I have been to 2 specialists already and they do not know what is going on. I can't keep on like this as I am starting to think I have messed myself up and I am feeling a bit depressed. Help me pls!! Has someone been like this? Is this feeling going to disappear?

xx

Hi! Thanks for responding to my post. I started 20 mg. phentermine on April 7th and took another 20 g. on April 8th. I want to stress that I only took two pills total. Suddenly, I had this intense urge to urinate 24/7. I immediately stopped taking phen. because I could not handle what I then thought would be a temporary side effect. Well, fastforward five months later and dozens of doctor visits, tests, and medications with no relief. I have the urge to urinate 24/7 sometimes so intense that I cannot sleep. I have seldom left my house in the last five months. I often have an intense pressure like my bladder is being pressed on or might fall out. I also have new symptoms now of intense burning like acid inside me. I test negative for infections and have been thrown into the interstitial cystitis diagnosis. If you do not get better that is probably what you will be diagnosed with too. An IC diagnosis is not a good one to get. It has a list of symptoms that anyone would fall into with basically no known reason for why you have it. There is no cure for it and it is tricky to treat. I never had problems with my bladder until the very day that I started taking phen. If I have IC, I know it was brought on by phen. I believe if this medicine is known to alter and cause heart valve problems that it definitely can alter and damage your bladder. I wish that I never would have taken it. Also, I have talked to so many people that developed yeast and bladder infections the minute they started taking phen.-some having several infections in a row. These leads me to believe even more strongly that these pills definitely do effect your bladder. Sorry this is so long. I feel for you and pray that yours does clear up. I just wanted you to know that my problem never cleared up. I wake up everyday wishing to have my bladder removed or to be shot. I'm now trying physical therapy of my pelvic floor before trying more invasive options like hydrodistention of the bladder. In physical therapy it was discovered that I have high tone bladder. If you research phen. it is found to cause high tone. I would love to hear back from you and compare symptoms. Please let me know how you are doing or if you find something that helps.

Hi,

Thanks for your response too. I am feeling the same way you do. I do not want to live if this is feeling is not going away. I am regretting too having taken these pills just because I wanted to look better. This past week I have even been feeling an awful lower back pain with a bit of numbness on my legs. I do not know if both things are related or not. I will let you know the outcome. At least, in a certain way, just think that you are not alone. Take care

Hi There! I was just wondering if you went to see the specialist yet? I'm going to see a Urogynecologist in a few days. I'm hoping that she will know what to do with me. I've felt so bad lately-lying around crying in pain. This is the worst thing I've ever had in my life! I'm hoping you are doing better or even better that your problem has completely went away. Take Care!

Hi Brandy,

Nice to hear from you. I am afraid that my problem has gone worse too. Because of taking antibiotics during these 4 months I have an ovarian cyst plus something called "hydrosalpinx" on one of the fallopian tubes. These are the worst news I could ever hear. Now they have prescribed me triple antibiotics for 14 days. I am really scared because I might not be able to have kids in a future. Apart from that, if in 6 weeks this is not getting better I will have to get the tube removed. I hope I am not scaring you. However the sensation of wanting to pee all the time with a bit of burning, apparently is not related. They say that they cannot see anything wrong but there might be a bit of urethra irritation that could cause this feeling. To be honest, I don't think so, I suppose that an irritation should get sorted sooner than four months, don't you think? I am going to see them again in 6 weeks and then they might send me to a dermatologist for the irritation as they think that with a bit of cream this can go. I wish I could believe them. I have been signed off for one week from work as I am starting to get depressed. I don't know what to do anymore. I know I need to try not to think about it but I can't. I hope you get sorted too and I hope that whoever is reading this, please stop taking the pill. This is far more serious than I thought it could be. I am seeing myself having to put up with this the rest of my life and I am only 30. let me know how your appointment turns up.
Take care
xx

Wow! You and I are more alike than ever now. I'm 31 and I also was found to have a large Ovarian Cyst (about the size of a grapefruit) that was also attached to my ovary and fallopian tube. After taking the phen. and having bladder problems they sent me for an IVP and found the cyst. I had it removed at the end of May. I thought that having it removed would make my problems go away but I also have intense burning and urge to urinate 24/7. I had my cyst removed through laparscopy (3 small incisions). The cyst was also wrapped around my tube and the doctor had to cut deeply to remove it. Fortunately, she was able to save my ovary and tube and thinks everything will heal nicely. I will have a ultrasound next week to see. I pray they can save yours too so you won't have to worry about having kids on top of the bladder problems. I went through all of the emotions that you are since I do not have kids yet. I was hoping that you were doing better. This is a nightmare that I do not wish anyone else to suffer with. I hope people will take our posts into consideration. It may be a small percent that it effects in this way but if I would of known then what I know now I would never touched the pills . It is depressing and miserable. I too feel like this is going to be the rest of my life. I believe there is more than irritation too. Yours has not gone away in 4 months and mine has not in almost 6 months now. Not much happened at the urogynecologist except that I will have to go through a lot more diagnostic tests to try to find what is going on. I was catherized that day and now I feel really bad esp. with the burning. It's awful! If I broke my hip they could fix that but noone can seem to fix this and it is so frustrating! Please keep in touch and let me know if you have to have surgery. Please know that I am here if you need to talk. You will be in my thoughts.

Brandy
