I have been taking phentermine since April and at first I didn't have any side effects once the jitteriness wore off. I started taking 15mg once a day but after two months I hadn't lost much weight so my doctor increased my dosage to 15mg twice a day in July and after three weeks I started seeing "floaters" in my left eye. At first it made it seem like I was seeing a bug flying around the room but then my one dot became a long string right in the front of my vision, and when I was outside in really bright light, I could see there were tons of small black dots off to the upper left range of my vision. After a week of this, I stopped taking the meds and it seemed to get a little better after two days. So out of curiosity I tried it again and after two more days the spots got MUCH worse so I stopped again. It was another week before I could ask my doctor about this and in that time it did get better but it didn't go away. I saw him yesterday and he said it could be from the phentermine but not to worry about it and keep taking it. Has anyone else had this problem?? I'm wondering if its truly safe to keep taking it if he thinks that is what is causing the floaters? He said if things get much worse, to call him again and take it from there so i'd like to know if anyone else had this problem and if it went away WHILE still taking the meds? I've never had this problem before, I don't have diabetes, and the vision isn't cloudy and I don't see any bright lights like I would if I had a detached retna so he doesn't think its that serious. But it sure is annoying!
