I got a urinary tract infection because of not drinking enough water. whatever you do...drink a lot of water. I haven't quit taking phen yet so I don't know if there would be any remaining side effects.

Hi there!!

I am having the same problem as you do. I stopped taking Phen in May and I have been since then like that and I do not know what else to do. I am going to another specialist in 2 weeks time. Let's see what happens.

I'm not only suffering thru the most painful bladder infection of my life, but the first day I took Phen I had a herpes outbreak - and I hadn't had one in ten years. I've been on antibiotics for two days for the bladder infection, and now I'm feeling congestion in my lungs that I have a hunch will turn into a wicked bronchitis by morning. I like the appetite suppressing ability of Phen but will probably decide tomorrow to quit. I hadn't planned on spending a good portion of my life going to doctors. Tomorrow will be my seventh day on it. I'm hoping these won't be ongoing problems.

Default Hoping your problems are only temporary
Crazy 07,

Thanks for your response! I hope that your problems will not be ongoing. Like you, I immediately after taking my first phen. developed prlems. So on the 2nd day I stopped taking the pills to never touch them again. Now six months later and a dozen meds, doctors, and trips to the ER with no relief. You may have noticed the post before yours of another phen user that is having bladder problems that have not went away even after stopping the pills. I have been trying to find others like you that have had this kind of reaction to phen. It is a known fact that phen. can alter/damage heart valves and I am convinced in some people it alters/damages their bladder permenantly. I think it's really leery that you had a herpes flare after being in remission for ten years. I think this phen is dangerous and I would bet money it is the only reason for your flare and bladder infection. I pray that you get better and yours is not long-term like mine and others that have responded. Please let me know how you do. You'll be in my thoughts.

Brandy,
Thanks for your kind words. The more I read about phentermine the more I think it's not the drug for me. I have, however, recovered from the bladder infection after two runs of antibiotics - the first one I had an allergic reaction to which of course made me feel all the worse. The bronchial congestion never turned into a full-blown illness, but I've coughed every day for over a week which is strange. I'm hoping the bladder problem is over for good - hope you will find a solution for yours, too. I went to an endocrinologist last week thinking I might have really messed up my thyroid or something and she found I have a severe vitamin D deficiency. I don't know if that had anything to do with anything, but it would be wise for everyone taking phentermine to get thoroughly checked out first for all pre-existing conditions - especially any one in their 50's like me. The doctor who prescribed Phentermine for me did blood work but didn't say anything about my vitamin D level. Good luck to you and others with the bladder pain, believe me I know how excruciating it can be.
