    Question

Hi there, I have been taking Phentermine 37.5 (prescribed) 1/2 a pill in the AM, 1/2 a pill in the PM, since February this year. I have started to need to take a little more lately. I have noticed in the last few weeks some major bladder issues - like, a little leakage (!), and weird needs to pee but not peeing at all. I think I may have gotten a UTI because perhaps of not drinking enough water for a while? I dont know, I am seeing the doctor tomorrow. Has anyone else had these side effects? (especially the leakage - very little a few drops but STILL!!! I am under 30, no kids...)

I haven't had any problems with bladder leakage, but since starting Phen, I just don't urinate very much at all no matter how much water I drink. Even if I have 10 glasses of water in one day, I'll probably urinate twice the whole day. In your case, it does sound more like a UTI (which is very common) than a side effect of the Phen.

I'm also taking the Phen 37.5 but I swallow one pill whole once a day. I've read that you're not supposed to crush the pills and that they're only supposed to be taken whole. But if your doctor told you to only take half a pill at a time, I'd probably talk to her about it.

For me, I have to pee as soon as I drink a glass of water, so its pretty frequent and the urge to pee is enormous in comparison to the amount that actually comes out. You may have a infection, drink some cranberry juice and I'd call your your doctor.

I have noticed since I have been on it that I have to "push" harder, and the "stream" is not nearly as strong as it used to be. ie: it takes me a lot longer to empty my bladder now!
"Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!" Saw this on someone elses signature....I hope they don't mind that I stole it. If it's yours and you do mind, PM me and I'll remove it.

    Dear gettintheregb,

Thanks for posting this, I thought I was crazy. I had the low flow issue after the first couple of days, then it went into full blown dribble and leak. I felt like I should be wearing a diaper of some sort. It seemed worse later in the day and night. I got off the drug for this reason alone. I could have dealt with the dry mouth, not sleeping, and somewhat light headedness, but feeling like I was leaking urine all the time was not acceptable. I was constantly going to the dribble. Even the coma my penis went into would have been ok for the short run. Again thanks for posting as my DR. had not heard this side effect even though she expected it was from the phen.

    Default Worked to me.

    Hi everyone.
I am a newbie here but before I was put on Phentermine I read a lot in the forums here. I too ran into the urination problem. I guess I should have called the doctor right away but I also had a family medical emergency problem in another state at the same time.

I will agree that this is a real bother. You feel as if your pipes are going to burst and when you finally get to where you can go it is like, pssssst, dribble, pssst, dribble, psst. Finally you walk away only to find you need to go again. pssst, dribble.

So off to the doctor I went on my regular appointment. I told him about what was going on and he said, "Well what do you want to do? You want to stop the phentermine? I had already thought about this and I had my answer ready. I told him no. I told him that I wanted to try it one more month at least. He said okay I can give you something to help with that. And he gave me 3 weeks of samples of Flomax. I took one capsule right after I arrived home. By that night I had noticed a remarkable difference.

On a second note he also asked me about how I am sleeping. Phentermine side effects MAY include restlessness; sleeplessness; and difficulty sleeping among other things. The doctor also gave me 7 days worth of Lunesta and told me to try them to see if they helped. They worked and worked great for me.

I hope this info helps some of you. The main thing I believe is to be sure you tell your doctor about any difference you notice. Urine problems, sleeplessness, constipation, diarrhea, etc. Good luck.

I sometimes think the answer is to actually drink more water, preferably filtered, we all forget to keep drinking fluids even though we are down on food intake

Hope you get through this phase, it dosn't seem too comfortable

Glad you found some help for those side effects, BUT is adding MORE meds really that good for you? I've been on Phen for 2 1/2 months now, and have had

    Blurred Vision
    Pain in Testicles
    Week Urination steam/ ejaculation
Tightness in neck/upper back (increased over the past week)
Inability to maintain erection (increased especially over the past week)

I didnt' have any of these over the first 5-6 weeks except for the pain in testicles. I have really noticed the onset of everything else. After reading other threads here and comparing to my experience, the only issue I can attribute all these problems to is the Phen. I'm going to stop using it now, for a whole week to verify if the Phen is indeed the stem of my health issues.

I will be in Vegas next week to celebrate my wife and my 10th anniversary, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Phen is the culprit, and that my stopping use of it, is the solution.
