I see a lot said about taking phentermine if you have mental illness but it does not neccessarily answer my question. I take Lithium and have been able to take other diet pills. Is there any info on whether or not I can take phentermine while still on my lithium?

I'm not a doctor but lithium is salt-based and has been around for centuries, so i dont see why it would be a problem. I take wellbutrin, geodon, chlorpromazine, xanax, and a few others for bipolar and anxiety disorders. My doctor was reluctant to give me a prescription for phentermine because he said it might make me go manic. My psychiatrist thought otherwise and gave me a prescription for adipex so if i can take a heavy-duty antipsychotic like chlorpromazine, then you should be fine on lithium. I was on it for years.
