I signed up for our office thanksgiving luncheon, and I have an excellent pecan pie recipe, but now I am worried that I wont beable to resist eating it.

Anyone have any idea if it is possible to make a sugar free pecan pie?

My recipe calls for an entire bottle of Karo syrup plus a bunch of granulated sugar...

Right after I posted this - I thought about searching for on on the net, and low and behold, I found this at food TV networks web site

No Sugar Pecan Pie

Recipe Summary
Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 50 minutes
Inactive Prep Time: 1 minute Yield: 8 servings

3 eggs
5 teaspoons (or 16 packets) sugar substitute (recommended: "Equal for recipes")
1 cup breakfast syrup (recommended: Smuckers Sugar Free, or another brand if you wish)
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup pecan halves
Pie dough for a single 9-inch crust

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix the eggs with the sugar. Stir in the breakfast syrup and the melted butter. Stir in the pecan halves. Line a 9-inch pie pan with the pie dough. Pour in the pecan pie filling mixture. Bake for 25 minutes with edges covered with foil. Remove foil from the edges and bake for another 25 minutes or until you can insert a knife and have it come out clean. Cool and cut into 8 pieces to serve.

Thumbs up
That sounds yummy.

I may have to take it to a gathering. I assume Splenda would work just as well, I prefer that to Equal.
